If Only You Allow Him

“Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you!” Isaiah 49: 15 (NIV)

The love God has for us is more than any you can compare. His love is even more than that of mother and child. His love is everlasting, and does not change. A mother may get to a point in her life that she will disown her child, based on his action, but God never does this.

He will forever love you even if you mess up, run away and come back to him. His mercy is irreversible, because He delights in showing and showering his mercy upon His people.

You know what? Everyone close to you may run away at the moment when you need him or her most. They may abandon you or they may even forget you, but God won’t do that.

Rest your faith, your hope, and your life in the hands of God. He will lift you up. You don’t have to bother running from one mortal to mortal in need of help. All you need to do is come to God, because He is every ready to help you, if only you allow Him.

Peace!

Faithfulness — Does it worth it?

“But Ruth said, “Do not press me to leave you or turn back from following you! Where you go, I will go; where you lodge, I will lodge; your people shall be my people, and your God my God. Where you die, I will die — there will I be buried. May the Lord do thus and so to me, and more as well, if even death parts me from you!” Ruth 1:16-17

It takes extreme faithfulness and commitment for someone to do just as the Biblical Ruth did, with her mother-in-law, Naomi.

It is true that these days, many mothers-in-law, are catastrophes, and unfriendly to be with. In fact, many wives are not in nice relationship with their mothers-in-law, not because they choose to but they don’t just get along.

The case of Ruth and Naomi, is such beautiful one that went deeper, and created solid relationship that lasted throughout the generations, even until now.  If you go back to the history, you will see that Ruth was in the lineage of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Ruth was a wonderful woman, someone who loved everyone and not selfish, I mean just thinking about her own family. She lost her husband, but she stayed so firm by Naomi, and not deserted the old woman.  Orpah, her sister-in-law, and wife to either late Mahlon or Chilion, gave up and returned to her family, probably to married someone else, and to start a new life.

But Ruth was determined. There was no doubt she’d loved her late husband. Now that man was gone, Ruth saw no hope in abandoning her mother-in-law, nor the life she’d created with her late husband. She wanted to maintain that family even without the man.

And above all, she loved Naomi! And she remained faithful to the old woman. Naomi, seeing how her daughter-in-law insisted, did not push her further but accepted her. It was Naomi who joined Ruth and Boaz together as man and wife.

As result of Ruth’s faithfulness, Naomi did all she could, instructed Ruth on what to do to get closer and be friendly with Boaz. Without the love between both women, nothing would have been successful.

This showed the love, the faithfulness and the bond.  When you are faithful to someone, and this is genuine, of course, more blessings will flow your way.

Faithfulness does not just end anyhow. It goes across the spheres, to being you multiple blessings, such that you never imagine. This is why you must come to understand that you need faithfulness in your relationship with God. The Lord is faithful to you in every way. And the evidences of this, you see in how He protects you, bless you, promote you, heal you, provides for you.

So why can’t you reciprocate His faithfulness in your life? Why do you have to remain unfaithful to Him buy serving your own consciousness? Do you think your life is worth it that you should play hanky-panky game with God?

If you are faithful to God as He is to you, then you are in for a life of abundant grace, blessings, and lots and lots of happiness.

Make it your duty to remain faithful to God!

Peace!

Do Not Fear!

“I called on your name, O Lord, from the depths of the pit; you heard my plea, “Do no close your ear to my cry for help, but give me relief!” You came near when I call on you, you said, “Do not Fear!” Lamentations 3:55-57

God hears when we call upon Him, with our sincere hearts, knowing how we need Him. The bible says the in the same chapter of Lamentation, verses 22-23, that the steadfast love of the Lord never ceases, His mercy never comes to an end, they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.”

I repeat: God hears when you call. You don’t have to doubt this. He knows what you are passing through even before you call upon Him, even before you run to Him in prayer.

He says, “Do not fear!” For He will do all things for you, more than you can ever imagine. Do not fear. Do not allow doubt to overthrow you faith. Be firm in your hope in the Lord. No matter what you have, what disturbs you, or what pains your heart, God says, “Do not fear!”

He will never leave you, nor forsake you. He hasn’t done that before, and He will never do it. When God says He will, then note that He will. God is not a man that He should lie.

God is God, and He will help you. So, DO NOT FEAR!

Peace!

False Speculation: The Subjects of Ridicule

“There is no one like you, O Lord, and there is no God besides you, according to all that we have heard with our ears.” 1 Chronicles 17:20

I will bless the name of the Lord, for He is worthy of all my praise and worship! No one is like God; no one will be like Him. And no matter how they try to create a new image of God, they will never succeed!

God is God. His mercy endures forever. He changes not, and He does not forget His own creation. From Generation to Generation, the entire human races understand and know God, in different languages, culture and knowledge.

Imagine a mere human coming out to declare himself as God? What a joke! Does it make any sense to you, to see group of people, I mean ordinary mortal surfacing from nowhere to publicly announce that they are gods?

There have been false speculations for so long, where incidents or news like these just pop up but at the end, they have all been proved, tested and seen that they are false. There is no doubt there are still some to be exposed and it does not matter how long this will they, they will surely be expose.

God is not like us. I don’t know and I can’t find the words to describe Him because He is too much!  In the verse, David prayed to God, mentioning so many of what God did for the Israelites. David affirmed God’s sovereignty, His supremacy, and till this moment, we all acknowledge His dominion.

To Him be all the glory, forever and ever, amen.

Peace!

Oh My Soul!

“Bless the Lord, o my soul, and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and do not forget all his benefit—” Psalm 103:1-2

Each second, every minute, and hour, I bless the Lord for my life. I am hale and healthy, I am not crazy in the head, and the Lord blesses me in every endeavour of my life, so why can’t I praise Him?

If you look back into your life, into every detail of you, you will see that you have all reasons to thank God. It is of no use when you don’t appreciate what God done, and is doing in your life.

When you don’t show a genuine heart of gratitude, then it means you are absolutely ungrateful and that you don’t care about the presence of God in your life.  I rather advice you to start appreciating the Lord for every thing you are.

Do you know that the more you praise God, the more your life becomes better and better?  So what is your soul doing? Is your soul praising and blessing God?

Daily, I ask my soul to bless the Lord. My soul is the vital part of me. Without it, then I’m not here. When my soul is healthy, then all is well with me. This is why I pray and bless the Lord with my soul. I ask my soul to praise God, to worship Him, to honour Him and never forget its source and that is God.

My soul will never forget the benefits of the Lord, the grace of serving the Lord, and the abundant presence of the Lord in my life.

Tell me, why should my soul not appreciate the Lord, its source?

Bless the Lord, o my soul and please, please, and please, DO NOT FORGET ALL HIS BENEFITS!

Peace!

Do You Love Me?

“He said to him the third time, “Simon son of John, do you love me?” Peter felt hurt because he said to him the third time, “Do you love me?” And he said to him, “Lord, you know everything; you know that I love you.” Jesus said to him, “Feed my sheep.” John 21:17

From verse 15 of this chapter, Jesus began asking Simon Peter the same question, not just because the Lord wanted to ask but for many reasons.

Peter denied Christ three times before, but he repented on time. Peter was one among the disciples of Jesus Christ, with a very strong inquisitive nature. He asked questions so much that one would think he was a baby.

It was Simon Peter who told Christ not to wash his feet, and when Jesus explained, Peter quickly stretched out his feet, arms and entire body for Christ to wash him (John 13: 6-9).

After the death and resurrection of Christ, Peter became so powerful in the Lord, and please, I implore you to read more about Simon Peter, not just from the Bible but from several historical books that explained more about the Peter and the disciple, there, you will find out how they were martyred. Peter’s faith in the Lord was so strong that Jesus renamed him ‘Cephas’ meaning the rock, which is Peter, the Greek translation.

Peter stayed strong throughout his life. He did not denounced Christ. Even his wife did as a martyr. He preached the gospel without fear, in and out of prisons, with extreme boldness and strength.

Can you be like Peter? Can you boldly declare that you love Christ? Can the Lord come and find you worthy of your calling as Christian? How many souls have you been able to save and bring to Christ?  Can you just check out your life to see if you are truly the image of Christ?

Peace!

Show a Good Sense

“We do not dare to classify or compare ourselves with some of those who commend themselves. But when they measure themselves with one another, they do not show good sense” 2 Corinthians 10:12 (NRSV)

Everyone has some elements of pride within, and these show up often in many cases, such as when we achieved something remarkable, and we feel the need to show off, so that those around us can see us.

This is good to some limit, I mean to some point, because when a show off becomes too much, it leads to sin and of course many nasty reactions.

To be happy about something is great BUT to take pride in showing off is very bad. You are a Christian, and for this, your joy must be centred in the Lord, and whatever achievement you have in life, you must boast in the Lord about this.

When you get to the point that you begin to commend yourself, saying that you do all and achieve all by your own power, then indeed, and just like the last words of the verse states, YOU HAVE NO GOOD SENSE.

Learn to boast in the Lord; do not commend yourself to an extreme. Show to God that to Him be all the adoration and honour. He is the one who raises you. It is not by your power or self that you achieved your goal or whatever.

Without God by your side, I bet you wouldn’t have make it this far, so do not be so ungrateful but comment God and avoid boasting. It is not for the child of God.

Peace!

This Is Hope

“Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life.” Proverbs 13:12 (NIV)

Hope is not just about waiting and believing God for something. Hope is increasing your faith in the Lord and your salvation. You know the day of the Lord is near when Jesus Christ will come but you have no idea about the time or the date. Yet, you keep waiting, exercising your faith.

This is Hope.

A hope that stands alone and can succeed in all odds. When you rest your faith in God, at all times and you tend to believe Him to deliver you, to save you, to help you, to live in your life, then you have hope.

The moment you get weary and you start questioning your faith, then there is problem. Many believers fall by the wayside. They get to a point and then, they began to ask if truly God exists, if truly Christianity worth the effort.

I would like to tell you that you must stay firm in your hope. Do not give up. Never get to the point where you will lose your hope in God.

Be patient, pray at all times, read the word of God daily to empower you, and stay strong in your faith.

The more you keep your hope in God, the more He will raise you up, and beyond your extreme imagination.

Peace!

How It Shall Go Well with You

“Happy is everyone who fears the Lord, who walks in his ways. You shall eat the fruit of the labour of your hands; you shall be happy, and it shall go well with you. “ Psalm 128:1-2

Trust goes beyond just mere words. It means taking the initiative in your actions, your moves and with all your might. When you trust someone, you are rest assured that this person will not disappoint you. You feel good within you and there is the peace that comes with it.

But I would like you to know this; trusting your fellow human being is like wasting lots of years trying to be a castle in the sand. To trust a man is nothing but fruitless effort because man will surely fail you. It may not be instance but such a time will come when you will really see that this person is not worth trusting after all.

God is forever God, and to Him be all the glory, honour and adoration forever more, amen. You have nothing to worry about when you trust Him. By doing this, you are confirming your reverence to God.

Do you remember that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom? You fear God means you know He is God, and you heed to His instruction without any argument. To fear God equally means to love Him, to trust Him, to accept His Lordship over your life.

And when you fear Him, surely you will be happy as the verse quoted. Your life will not be same when you choose to live in God, to walk in His ways, to obey Him, to advance in your knowledge of Him.

The Bible says because you fear the Lord, and because you walk in His ways, then you shall prosper, in every endeavour of your life. You shall prosper in your businesses, your job, your career, your education, your family, you relationship, and with your children.

What a joy, knowing how much we gain when we follow God and earnestly walk in His ways! The Lord says, it shall go well with us.

Aren’t you  glad to realise this? You don’t have to look elsewhere anymore. Believe me, there is no need. Just go on, put your trust in the Lord, fear Him with sincerity, respect Him, love Him and it shall go well with you, in Jesus mighty name, amen.

Peace!

Hey, Gear up your Sleeping Faith!

“Then I proclaimed a fast there, at the river Ahava, that we might deny ourselves before our God, to seek from him a safe journey for ourselves, our children, and all our possessions. For I was ashamed to ask the king for a band of soldiers and cavalry to protect us against the enemy on our way, since we had told the king that the hand of our God is gracious to all who seek him, but his power and his wrath are against all who forsake him. So we fasted and petitioned our God for this, and he listened to our entreaty.” Ezra 8:21-23

We have focused so much on the meaning of fasting to be just for the purpose of acquiring something from God, but fasting is more than that.

In this verse, Ezra’s faith was tested to the core. For he and his entourage to get to where they were going, they prayed, and fasted for God’s protection even over their children. It means we can fast also to ask God to protect us, and not to give us something.

Fasting is very powerful. I can tell you this, and please, I want you to believe me, that faster has higher degree than prayer! You can pray all the time, in the morning, in the afternoon, in the evening or in the night, but when it comes to fasting, you have time usually set for this.

You can fast in until noon, or three in the afternoon, or till 6pm.  And this is not all! Do you know there are different types of fasting? I will not go fully into that here because it is for another post but here are few,

—   Day Fasting – this you fast within a day or more, from specific hour to another.

—   White Fasting – to go on this, you can drink water but no food, no salt. Some believers prefer to carry on this fasting with juice.

—   Dry fasting – when you go for this, you don’t drink or eat. You stay on fasting without any.

Back to Ezra, there was no doubt he and his people were scared of their journey, I mean they themselves, alone, and perhaps it was such a long journey that required tight security. But because Ezra was known to be a man of faith, and to his king, Ezra’s God is sufficient to protect him. Thus, the king did not bother giving out security men as guards for Ezra and his people, and Ezra himself did not dare ask the king.

If he did, he would be contradicting his faith in God, and if initially the king is on the verge of converting, he (King) may withdraw, believing that after all, Ezra’s God is not worth going with.

Due to the shame, Ezra withdrew his demands, then he and his people prayed and fasted.  You know what? This is faith! And it is such a powerful faith that took them safely throughout their long journey till they reached their destination.

They never used the king’s soldiers, or cavalry, all they used were their faith and their trust in God. And the Lord protected them, no harm came to them, nothing happened to their children, the enemy did not attacked them.

Often, we rely so hard on the security men, the men of the law, the Police or whoever to protect us, but I want you to know that all these people are mere human like you. They have their limits. In fact, there is little they can do for you.

What if you are in dire need of help and you are there calling 911, or 18, have you ever pause to think of this? You may have gotten into big mess before the help you called would come. This is because their distance to you at that time is not near, or they are busy elsewhere, or there is miscommunication during the call.

They cannot bring help to you immediately but with God, this is instant!  You don’t know to pick a phone to call God to come and rescue you. He is right there by your side. You only need to gear up your sleeping faith to see Him. Fast, pray and hold on to your faith.

Peace!

No Pain is Permanent

“When a woman is in labour, she has pain, because the hour has come. But when her child is born, she no longer remembers the anguish because of the joy of having brought a human being into the world.” John 16:21

A child is born, and the entire world rejoices! His family congratulate the mother and the father, but none of them carried the burden. None of them knew those processes and stages of pregnancy the women went through to have the child.

All they know is a child is born.

The days, the weeks, and the months that the woman suffered so much pains, sleepless nights, back pain, that she would turn here and there in bed, unable to sleep because the child inside her just want to turn the other way or this way while she wants to her sleeping position to be the other way. What about the moments this woman would find every food irritated to her?  How about the series of fever she had as result of body changing?

None of these does anyone knew. Yes, they saw her during her pregnancy. They saw the bulging tummy, the once slimmed pretty feet –now turned fat and too heavy, and also the saw the excessive  fatness she’d grown overnight.

Yes, all these symptoms, appearances, they’d seen BUT none of them were able to know her inner feelings, her pains, her agony, and her willingness to bore the child.

This same process is likened her to every believer’s period of pains. Jesus, while on earth, was addressing his disciples here and telling them about how their pains and their sorrow will turn to joy.

It is still refers to today.

You may have so many pains within you, concerning personal matters that trouble you. I would like you to note this; ‘every pain, irrespective of the sizes, or the volume, is temporal.’

Do not conclude in your heart, or by yourself that all hope is lost. No! No hope is lost for you.  As long as God exists and forever more He will, so you do not have to panic.

No pain is permanent!  The only way out of your pains is you need to keep on strongly to your faith in God. He alone can deliver you. He alone is capable of removing all your pains. Go to Him; talk to Him, show Him your pains, discuss your worries with Him, and then leave everything in His hands. He will take care of them all.

Peace!

God Will Never Disappoint You

All who worship images are put to shame, those who boast in idols— worship him, all you gods!” Psalm 97:7 (NIV)

One thing I have noticed so much about many believers is that they have another means of solution, other than God, to their problems. Many believe that we can still mixed God and visiting herbalist as one.

This is not so. When you are with God, then you must serve Him with all sincerity. It is of no use trying to go here and there, all in the name of finding solution.

I would like you to know that in every thing you are passing through, in every solution that you are looking for, please, look unto God for them all.

Every thing is possible for God. He is able to do all things even more than your imagination. He is God and He does not change overnight.

Herbalists, or any other images may help you for a while, but I can tell you that this is just for a while. Nothing they do for you will last and this means that it is not durable.

And with God, this is not so — for God is all you need in your life to move on. Please, stop following other images, do not worship other gods, avoid bowing to false images, and go ahead and FOCUS all your life, your welfare, your heart on God.

He will never disappoint you.

Peace!

I Could Never be Sorry for the Grace of God in My Life

“All of us once lived among them in the passions of our flesh, following the desires of flesh and senses, and we were by nature children of wrath, like everyone else.” Ephesians 2:3

There is no Christian today, who has not passed through former stage, I mean former life, where he lives in the flesh, do all in the ways of the world. We all have different stories of how we come to God.

Our redemption stories are different. In fact, some don’t remember anymore how it all begins. By accident; some people found themselves in the midst of believers and by the intervention of the Holy Spirit they are saved.  There are some who willingly and freely decided they must henceforth follow Christ.  Some have known Christ but they are not stable in their faith, and thus they go and on off until one day, their lives changed and they focused now on God. And this may be funny, but there are some who are forced to know God.

No matter how we all come to know God, I thank God for we all are under the same body, under the same anointing, and serving the same God.

Though I have a very strong Muslim background, I was born into a Christian home. Thank God for my mother!  It was easy as she hailed from Christian home, and all my siblings are Christians. My father never practised Islamic. And he did not force his faith on his parents or siblings. He is just different. Everyone used to say my mother converted him but I don’t think so. I grew up going to church with him. Today, his entire life is consecrated in serving Christ.

I studied Bible extensively while in schools and personally. None of us in my house can avoid reading or learning the Bible, because my mother will not permit that. She is a strict disciplinarian.

In spite of my deeper knowledge in the word of God, the youth craziness, the will to be part of the society, to belong, to check out everything, to manipulate and those nasty stuffs those days, just took over me. I still attended church, even changing churches at intervals as I relocated but I must confess, I hardly knew God, then.

Those days, there is this solid mentality that anyone who goes to church is a believer, a Christian who knows God and I believed this so much. I can quote and argue from Genesis to Revelation with anyone who dared.

Until that moment of grace, that beautiful day when Christ came, and told me: “Princess, enough is enough.”  Since then, I never looked back. Of course, there have been of failings but it’s no more like the past.

The Bible says in Ephesians 2:8: 9 “For by Grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God —not the result of works, so that no one may boast.”

When the Grace of God is upon your life, believe me, the rhythm of your life will completely be different because you will no longer be singing the old songs but a new one, directly from the heart of Christ.

It is God’s grace that leads me and brings me to God today, otherwise, I would have been lost, and maybe I would have ended my life mercilessly.

What about you? Are you under the Grace of God or not?

Peace!

No End to A Tunnel

When you are disturbed, do not sin; ponder it on your beds, and be silent. Offer right sacrifices, and put your trust in the Lord.” Psalm 4:4-5

Psalm chapter 4: verse 4 and 5 are simple lessons every believer must take hold of, particularly at this period.  And I will divide them each to explain;

—   When you are disturbed, do not sin (Verse 4a)

In our problems, we are capable of anything. There is every possibility for a believer, if not careful, to mess us during his crisis. A song says ‘desperation keeps us strong’ and I have never believed this and I never will, because out of desperation, in crisis, a believer can commit the worst crime he never intended.

A moment when you are disturbed can either destroy or rebuild your relationship with God. It all depends on you, your state of mind and most importantly your faith in God.

You may reach a point, where you may call the end of your tunnel, a point when you look around and you see no one, no help, or a point when you pray and pray earnestly for God to help you, and all you get is silence, which to you may mean that God has forgotten you. At that point, you can boldly and publicly denounce God. This is sin! It is not what God intends from you.

That you don’t hear from God, or no help is coming does not mean that God does not hear you. Often, this is when God tests you to check out your faith in Him. This is the time you need to be extremely careful, because then you have to prove that truly you are a Christian, and no matter what, your faith will not be shaken.

—   Ponder it on your beds, and be silent. (Verse 4b)

You need to be quiet when you are disturbed. Instead of going ahead to sin, what you must do is, take some times out, and think thoroughly. You are likely to discover that the answer to your problem is just within you. But if you don’t think deep, how can you find this out? Also, the Holy Spirit relates clearer to you when you are meditating, when you are at your moment of thought. He will bring the solution to you straightaway. You just have to think, think, and think more.

You don’t have to do this while in bed, find a quiet place even when you are at work, even in the midst of crowd, you can find quietness in your heart that will give you the space to think. Just block out the noise around you with your mind so that you won’t be distracted. I do this a lot. Those around me won’t know I was engaged in deep thoughts but there I was.

Also, you can ponder on your problems in the middle of the night, while you are in bed or not. We all know how traumatic issues are, and when we are in them, we can hardly sleep, and this is best because during the night when all is calm, we are able to think deeper.

Above all, be silent then. You can’t just be thinking of how to solve your problem and at the same time be thinking of how to iron your cloth for next day work.  Get every other thought off your mind. I suggest your block your mind at this time. Focus extensively on your problems. And please, listen to the instructions of the Holy Spirit. He talks! You just have to be quiet. You won’t hear Him audibly but He talks.

—   Offer right sacrifices, and put your trust in the Lord ((Verse 5)

Offer RIGHT sacrifices! I hope you are beginning to understand this. Right, right, right and right sacrifices. Think of this — what happened to your tithing? Do you just give it anyhow or do you give to bless the lives of other people? We have been drown in this mentality that one must give their tithes to the church but I can tell you that many churches don’t even know if you give or not because they are rich enough not to notice the 10 Euros or dollar you dropped in there.

Majority of today’s churches are no longer in conformity with the word of God and I won’t advice you to go for them. I will dwell on that on another post.

Look at the orphans, the destitute, the hungry ones, the sick, and many of them, and bless them with your giving.

Another ‘right’ sacrifice is your offering of praise and worship. When you bless God through your singing, your hymns and worship and not bother at that moment about your problems, God will act in your favour.

Lastly, trust God. He is able to do all things, abundantly, more than we can ever ask of (Ephesians 3:20).  Never doubt the power of the Lord. He is I AM THAT I AM, and for Him nothing is impossible. He makes way where all human knowledge had declared blocked.

Take hold of these.

Peace!

Who Can Condemn God?

“He is the Rock, his works are perfect, and all his ways are just. A faithful God who does no wrong, upright and just is he.” Deuteronomy 32:4 (NIV)

God has done no wrong, committed no offense but it seems to many people that God is at fault for everything that happen to us.

Man refuses to check himself, to see where he’d failed. He only believes that if anything goes wrong with him then, it is God’s fault.

How stupid is he?

The Bible says God is our Rock; He is the foundation of every believer on earth. Without God, then the foundation is not solid. To Him, there is no blemish, but pure, and His ways are just.

How many people blamed God last week for the Haitian earthquake? Thousands and thousands of people!

If you are among, then you must ask for forgiveness and get out of being ignorant. God is not an author of evil. He is a Faithful God and He will keep His promises to the end.

Please, do not and never, ever forget that God does no wrong.

Peace!
