In My Distress

“This is my comfort in my distress, that your promise gives me life.” Psalm 119: 50

There is no one who is without any problem. We all have our personal problem(s), and the differences are in what we have, how we got it and how to solve it.

Life is not a bed of roses. If anyone comes to tell you that life will remain bright without you having any problems, please be very careful with this person.

While on earth, Jesus Christ faced many problems especially from people who were against Him. They did all they could to prevent Him from spreading the gospel. They tried to stop Him from healing the sick. They attempted so hard to seize Him and Kill Him but they failed in all these.

They failed because God did not allow them. It was when the time came for Jesus Christ to pay for our sins that God permitted them to capture Him. For this we are celebrating the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ today.

He paid the debt, a ransomed one, which no one can. He died for you and I. And today, the third day, He’s risen from the dead! Hallelujah!

For this reason, you must not forget God’s promise. He says He will never leave you nor forsake you. He will never give you stone instead of bread. He will see you through all the troubles that you are going through.

Be at peace, brethren, because the Lord will comfort you. Just remember His promise. He never fails and He will never fail.

Peace!

What is Man?

“To whom will ye liken me, and make me equal, and compare me that we may be like.” Isaiah 46:5

All glory must be unto God, the creator of heavens and earths. I would like to announce to you that there is never anyone like God and forever will anyone be like Him.

The Bible says, ‘what is man that you are mindful of him, the son of man that you care for him?’ Psalm 8:4. This is vivid reason why you must never give priority to your fellow human being instead of God.

It does not matter how great or wealthy you are. What matters is how you treat God, how you render to Him all honour, all glory and all adoration due unto Him name.

Think thoroughly about this and don’t ever, ever compare God with your fellow mortal beings. It is an act of stupidity and also sinful.

Peace!

The Rights of the Poor and Afflicted

“I know that the Lord will maintain the cause of the afflicted, and the right of the poor.” Psalm 140:12

There have been lots and lots of accusation against God. In times of troubles especially those happening in the world such as the earthquakes, sudden deaths, economic recession and so on, many people tend to ask why God allow this and that situations.

If you listen to them all, you will almost get to the point yourself that if you are not careful, you will join them in blaming God.

I would like you to understand that God will always maintain the cause of the afflicted and He will continue to fight for the rights of the poor. He is not wicked. He cares for you and I.  His name is Love!

Many of the events that occurred came out of our own doings. Take a look at the climate changes, this does not exist this way in the pasts, but because we have involved so much in carrying out lots of new technologies that cause large pollutions and damages to the world, the results of these we are now experiencing with the climate changes.

We failed, I mean many of us failed to look at this, rather, and they turned their thoughts to God and pointed accusing fingers at Him. God is not responsible for the accidents, incidents and events going on around us.

He is here to help you and I. This is why we must not reject Him. He will fight for our cause and our rights. I have never doubt God’s works in my life because I am a living testimony to all He’s done and still doing in my life.

I want you to recognise His works in your life too. Remember His miracles upon your life and do not forget that He will fight your battles and gives you back your rights.

Peace!

What Happened to Your Soul?

“As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, O God.” Psalms 42:1

Love is a passion. Love brings out this deep longing such that you can never fight against. Someone once said that love intoxicates just like alcohol and I agree with this.

When you are in love, you desire to be with that person, you develop this yearning and the inexplicable thirsty that is capable of rendering you paralyze to obey your partner.

I would want you to compare this with your relationship with God. When you are in love, I mean truly in love with God, your soul will yearn and pants for him.

Think of the deer, when it’s thirsty, it thinks of nothing else than water. Its soul pants unstoppable for water until it gets it.

Make your soul pants for God more than ever. David the psalmist says his soul pants so much for God just like the deer. David was a man after God’s own heart. He acknowledged the Lord in everything he did. He made mistakes, he pleaded for forgiveness, and God punished him and forgave him too. In all these, David’s soul was truly for God.

Is your soul panting for God? Your soul is your source of life. And when your soul is not for God, then you are absolutely empty and in vain. And when your soul is for God, then your life is blessed beyond every explanation. God wants you to be for Him and alone. He does not want you to make any error toying with your soul or giving your soul to the way of the world.

Check out your life, ask yourself some questions and try to find out if truly, and sincerely your soul is for God.

Peace!

Who Are Your Friends?

“Happy are those who do not follow the advise of the wicked, or take the path that sinners tread, or sit in the seat of scoffers; but their delight is in the law of the Lord, and his law they meditate day and night.” Psalm 1:1-2

Often we believe that friends are doing us good when they advised us on issues that we told them, but at the end, we discover that the advises our friends gave us are not good.  It is true that our friends may mean well for us, and they believe in their own understanding that they are helping us.

This can be likened to the wicked ones. When someone whose heart is filled with evil comes to you, there is every possibility that you may not have the idea that the person is bad. He may hide his true identity and then advise you on things to do, and if you are not careful or sensitive, you may end up following his advise and that’s how you get into trouble.

The bible says, we should not follow the advise of the wicked. And how can you avoid this? This is by being conscious of what is being said to you, by taking every note of words people come to tell you and by being filled with the Holy Spirit of God to be able to discern the good from the bad.

Believe me, you cannot continue on this journey of your Christian faith without the presence of the Holy Spirit in your life because he will help you to avoid sinning. You need to avoid many sinful advises that people bring to you. You don’t have to join them in participating in what they do. When you do that, then you are not in accordance with God’s law.

Happy, that’s what the bible says, will that person be, whose heart is strictly for God. When you are for the Lord, there is no way you will get into trouble because surely your life is governed by the law of God.

And when you choose to follow the wicked ones and dwell in sin, peace of mind will elude you, and of course, there is no way you can be happy because you will be taunted by guilty conscience all the time.

So please choose to follow God, seize from getting advises from the evil ones and rest your heart upon the Lord. He will bring you peace of mind that no one can ever or will ever give to you.

Peace!

Oh My Soul!

“Bless the Lord, o my soul, and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and do not forget all his benefit—” Psalm 103:1-2

Each second, every minute, and hour, I bless the Lord for my life. I am hale and healthy, I am not crazy in the head, and the Lord blesses me in every endeavour of my life, so why can’t I praise Him?

If you look back into your life, into every detail of you, you will see that you have all reasons to thank God. It is of no use when you don’t appreciate what God done, and is doing in your life.

When you don’t show a genuine heart of gratitude, then it means you are absolutely ungrateful and that you don’t care about the presence of God in your life.  I rather advice you to start appreciating the Lord for every thing you are.

Do you know that the more you praise God, the more your life becomes better and better?  So what is your soul doing? Is your soul praising and blessing God?

Daily, I ask my soul to bless the Lord. My soul is the vital part of me. Without it, then I’m not here. When my soul is healthy, then all is well with me. This is why I pray and bless the Lord with my soul. I ask my soul to praise God, to worship Him, to honour Him and never forget its source and that is God.

My soul will never forget the benefits of the Lord, the grace of serving the Lord, and the abundant presence of the Lord in my life.

Tell me, why should my soul not appreciate the Lord, its source?

Bless the Lord, o my soul and please, please, and please, DO NOT FORGET ALL HIS BENEFITS!

Peace!

How It Shall Go Well with You

“Happy is everyone who fears the Lord, who walks in his ways. You shall eat the fruit of the labour of your hands; you shall be happy, and it shall go well with you. “ Psalm 128:1-2

Trust goes beyond just mere words. It means taking the initiative in your actions, your moves and with all your might. When you trust someone, you are rest assured that this person will not disappoint you. You feel good within you and there is the peace that comes with it.

But I would like you to know this; trusting your fellow human being is like wasting lots of years trying to be a castle in the sand. To trust a man is nothing but fruitless effort because man will surely fail you. It may not be instance but such a time will come when you will really see that this person is not worth trusting after all.

God is forever God, and to Him be all the glory, honour and adoration forever more, amen. You have nothing to worry about when you trust Him. By doing this, you are confirming your reverence to God.

Do you remember that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom? You fear God means you know He is God, and you heed to His instruction without any argument. To fear God equally means to love Him, to trust Him, to accept His Lordship over your life.

And when you fear Him, surely you will be happy as the verse quoted. Your life will not be same when you choose to live in God, to walk in His ways, to obey Him, to advance in your knowledge of Him.

The Bible says because you fear the Lord, and because you walk in His ways, then you shall prosper, in every endeavour of your life. You shall prosper in your businesses, your job, your career, your education, your family, you relationship, and with your children.

What a joy, knowing how much we gain when we follow God and earnestly walk in His ways! The Lord says, it shall go well with us.

Aren’t you  glad to realise this? You don’t have to look elsewhere anymore. Believe me, there is no need. Just go on, put your trust in the Lord, fear Him with sincerity, respect Him, love Him and it shall go well with you, in Jesus mighty name, amen.

Peace!

No End to A Tunnel

When you are disturbed, do not sin; ponder it on your beds, and be silent. Offer right sacrifices, and put your trust in the Lord.” Psalm 4:4-5

Psalm chapter 4: verse 4 and 5 are simple lessons every believer must take hold of, particularly at this period.  And I will divide them each to explain;

—   When you are disturbed, do not sin (Verse 4a)

In our problems, we are capable of anything. There is every possibility for a believer, if not careful, to mess us during his crisis. A song says ‘desperation keeps us strong’ and I have never believed this and I never will, because out of desperation, in crisis, a believer can commit the worst crime he never intended.

A moment when you are disturbed can either destroy or rebuild your relationship with God. It all depends on you, your state of mind and most importantly your faith in God.

You may reach a point, where you may call the end of your tunnel, a point when you look around and you see no one, no help, or a point when you pray and pray earnestly for God to help you, and all you get is silence, which to you may mean that God has forgotten you. At that point, you can boldly and publicly denounce God. This is sin! It is not what God intends from you.

That you don’t hear from God, or no help is coming does not mean that God does not hear you. Often, this is when God tests you to check out your faith in Him. This is the time you need to be extremely careful, because then you have to prove that truly you are a Christian, and no matter what, your faith will not be shaken.

—   Ponder it on your beds, and be silent. (Verse 4b)

You need to be quiet when you are disturbed. Instead of going ahead to sin, what you must do is, take some times out, and think thoroughly. You are likely to discover that the answer to your problem is just within you. But if you don’t think deep, how can you find this out? Also, the Holy Spirit relates clearer to you when you are meditating, when you are at your moment of thought. He will bring the solution to you straightaway. You just have to think, think, and think more.

You don’t have to do this while in bed, find a quiet place even when you are at work, even in the midst of crowd, you can find quietness in your heart that will give you the space to think. Just block out the noise around you with your mind so that you won’t be distracted. I do this a lot. Those around me won’t know I was engaged in deep thoughts but there I was.

Also, you can ponder on your problems in the middle of the night, while you are in bed or not. We all know how traumatic issues are, and when we are in them, we can hardly sleep, and this is best because during the night when all is calm, we are able to think deeper.

Above all, be silent then. You can’t just be thinking of how to solve your problem and at the same time be thinking of how to iron your cloth for next day work.  Get every other thought off your mind. I suggest your block your mind at this time. Focus extensively on your problems. And please, listen to the instructions of the Holy Spirit. He talks! You just have to be quiet. You won’t hear Him audibly but He talks.

—   Offer right sacrifices, and put your trust in the Lord ((Verse 5)

Offer RIGHT sacrifices! I hope you are beginning to understand this. Right, right, right and right sacrifices. Think of this — what happened to your tithing? Do you just give it anyhow or do you give to bless the lives of other people? We have been drown in this mentality that one must give their tithes to the church but I can tell you that many churches don’t even know if you give or not because they are rich enough not to notice the 10 Euros or dollar you dropped in there.

Majority of today’s churches are no longer in conformity with the word of God and I won’t advice you to go for them. I will dwell on that on another post.

Look at the orphans, the destitute, the hungry ones, the sick, and many of them, and bless them with your giving.

Another ‘right’ sacrifice is your offering of praise and worship. When you bless God through your singing, your hymns and worship and not bother at that moment about your problems, God will act in your favour.

Lastly, trust God. He is able to do all things, abundantly, more than we can ever ask of (Ephesians 3:20).  Never doubt the power of the Lord. He is I AM THAT I AM, and for Him nothing is impossible. He makes way where all human knowledge had declared blocked.

Take hold of these.

Peace!

When facing your Tunnels…….

“But as for me, my prayer is to you, O Lord. At an acceptable time, O God, in the abundance of your steadfast love, answer me. With your faithful help rescue me from sinking in the mire; let me be delivered from my enemies and from the deep waters.” Psalm 69:13:14
Time and situations come to everyone at different times. There is absolutely no one who is left without his own private problem(s).  I want you to understand that you are not alone in your situation(s). There are thousands of people who had experienced the same, while some are still in similar ones.
In spite, there is grand different especially for you as a believer. Tell me, whom do you turn to in time of trouble? God? Your own understanding? Or who?
When you turn to God and give up everything to Him, He will transform everything around in many unexpected ways that are beyond your imaginations. But there is something I want you to also know here; God works at the right time!
God won’t do something for you at the time that is not best for you. He works at the right time, which is the acceptable time for Him. I must remind you that God knows best. He understands your feelings, your pains, your agonies, your pasts, and your secrets more than I do. He will give you what’s best and durable for you at the appointed time.
So for this, you need to be patient, to trust Him for everything even when you have not received your request from Him. Yes, He will do it.
Remember, God is forever faithful. It doesn’t matter how far you have strayed from Him before you come back asking Him to help. No matter how much you have sinned, that does not prevent God from helping you in your troubles. He wants you to just come to Him with you burdens, your heavy loads that bother you and He will solve them all.
Don’t worry, because I know with this strong divine conviction in my heart that God won’t neglect your request but He will do it.
Peace!

Living By The Free Grace Upon YOU

“Not to us, O LORD, not to us but to your name be the glory, because of your love and faithfulness.” Psalm 115:1 (NIV)
When you worship and praise God, you are not doing it for yourself. Often you may think that to praise God is to move Him to doing something for you. This means that you have a motive behind praising Him.
You need to come to the full understanding that to God be all the glory. You must render to Him all the honour, all adoration and glory due to His name. And when you do this, you must not have any hidden motive behind.
Why should you praise God? Because without Him, you are absolutely nothing! It is only God who spares you unto this day. It is by His love, mercy, grace and protection that you are where you are.
Let me tell you; my life changes for the best today because God transforms me. I don’t think I would be where I am now if God has not intervened in my situation. And for this, I don’t and will never forget to praise Him for His complete faithfulness over my life.
Who else can be as faithful as God? Tell me, who else can move mountains for you as God?
For His incomparable love, and faithfulness, please praise Him!
Peace!
