The Spirit of Maturity

I am a friendly person by nature. I should state that sometimes my friendliness can go overboard. Taking extra steps to help those in my world, or not bothering about emptying my pockets just to make others happy.

But you all know, friendly people can be the talking types. I am also one of them. Oftentimes, I would not realise I have spent hours speaking. To some, it is nifty. To some, it is a problem. Believe me, dear friends, it is perhaps preferable to minimise taking one’s actions to the extreme. This is plainly because it can hurt.

Being oneself is not a trouble. What becomes an issue is not mastering it.

People who let the cat out of the bag too much may not be taken seriously. You must have been there or you may have somebody in your life who is a certified talkative. One day, I discovered something has to change for me. I know that I was not alone to alter how I interact with people. The Holy Spirit is the best guardian for this. You can only take in a perfect turnaround when you commit your ways to the Spirit of the Lord. He will help you out as He answered for me.

I prayed to God, asking for the spirit of maturity. Being an adult does not mean one has the abilities to behave maturely. Lifetime is a lesson we all are to learn daily. That I called to Jehovah to help me talk less and listen more, did not prevent me from asking for the assistance of the Holy Ghost. I needed then and still needing His guidance every second of my life.

To God be the glory, everything shifted! Rather than being the one to pick up my phones and call others endless time, now I give them their spaces. Listening has turned out to be the most beautiful act above talking or interrupting others.

That you acquiring God’s gift of maturity is sufficient to assist you in managing everyday life experience and occurrences. Do not arrive to that point where you believe you can sort things out alone. Situations can get out of your control at the moment you imagine you can handle it by yourself. Ask God for His spirit of maturity. He will yield it, freely without any judgements, any restrictions.

God bless you.

The Delibrate Sin

Immediate gratification only yield instant results. After that, nothing else. Money is good. I recommend it. Living a prosperous life is okay. I am happy for that.

However, when a Christian fails to understand the difference between a one-off gratification and a permanent blessing, his or her life will end up in continuous turmoil.

One African proverbial saying is that, “What a man loves much and cannot part from it, is what will ended up killing him.”

To declare being a born-again Christian and still fails to learn to say a big No, in diverse faces of temptation is detrimental to one’s relationship with God.

Lot wanted the best of the lands. He got it. In addition, he received many troubles with it. Jacobs desired his brother’s firstborn blessings. He had it BUT he added years of destructive forces into his life. David wanted a woman so badly that, for one moment in his life he forgot God, and killed a man just to have her. We all know the results. David, the man after God’s own heart, paid terribly for shedding innocent blood.

What do you want to have by all means that you know is contrary to the will of God?

Don’t Think Once!

Don’t Think Twice!!!

Think THRICE!!!

May the Holy Spirit helps you.

A Kind of Man

Many people do not understand why they are different from the others in their world. For some, it may be their disabilities. For others, it may be a sense of being uglier. For another, it could be the fear of being worthless.

Thus, they eventually develop the repeated circles of soul-searching simply to seek the best answer. Oftentimes, in these soul-searching techniques, they forget about thinking in the line connected to God and rather focus on thoughts that further bring them lots of depression, troubles and unnecessary anxiety.

Perhaps, the question here ought to be; “who is ugly or disabled or worthless in the eyes of the Almighty Jehovah?

My answer is, No one!

God created man in His Own Image [Genesis 1:27]. Therefore, the Holy Spirit does not see the ugliness or the disability or the worthless when He settles in the life of a man. Jesus Christ did not care about the disfigured face of any man when He offered His salvation. The Heads of the Trinity see only the man in us. This is the uniqueness and until you get to embrace it, trust me, you will have a long journey of issues.

John, the Baptist was a special man who loved his life as he was. He never searched for the means to modify his life. He was comfortable. And God used him that way.

No judgment. No condemnation. No rejection.

The Pain of Forgiveness

“But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father in heaven forgive your fallings and shortcomings.” Mark 11: 26

Forgiveness heals the broken-hearted. It restores the missing peace of mind. It creates a new world to those who embrace it.

We live in a world where many things are going wrong. We don’t ask for people to offend us but it happens a lot. In fact, you might just find out someone is set to harm you in your place of work and you begin to wonder why.

The world is filled with the good and the bad. You may try to change the bad sides many times but you can only get this done temporarily because after some times, it will return again.

You may begin to wonder why this and that is not accurate. Or why someone so close to you should be the one in charge of hurting you.

I don’t want to know how far people in your life had committed serious crimes against you. I am writing this post to you to let you know that you have the ability to forgive.

You must not live your entire life in grudge or hatred. You have to forgive. God gives you the rest of your life to live in complete harmony with people and not mess it up.

With the divine help of the Holy Spirit residing in you, you will find it very easy to forgive.

I implore you, do not live on with the pain of forgiveness. Live on the sincere life of a Christian, a child of God carrying the image of Jesus Christ.

Do You Know Love?

The tongue that brings healing is a tree of life….” Proverbs 15:4a

There are many passages of the bible that emphasis on the usage of tongue and how Christians should speak. The bible is not just a dictionary nor is it an encyclopaedia. It is the word of God given for the development of our spiritual lives.

You know what? Your tongue is very small and of course, as small as it is, it plays many vital roles for your survival. You can taste and mix your food with your tongue but it does not end there.

You can equally talk comfortably with your tongue. I bet that without it, you will be speaking roughly and with difficulty. God created your tongue so that you will have the power to express yourself.  For this reason, please note that it is not a mistake that your tongue is part of your body components.

Your tongue is so powerful and so fast in making you react to situation around you that often you may not realise its potential. Yes, you can talk BUT it is not your strength that is doing the talking. If your notice, you will discover that many times, you have found yourself jumping into a discussion without you controlling yourself.

That is your tongue! It is small but it is capable of either keeping you alive or directing you to your doom.

For this reason, you must start controlling your tongue. What you say to yourself or to those around you has the power to make it happen. If you are the type who keeps talking about the bad issues in your life, believe me, you will keep reaping these bad things.  And if you have been a speaker of peace, definitely, this peace will not cease from your doorstep.

You may be having problem controlling your tongue. Speak to the Holy Spirit. He is not just in your life for nothing. He is there to help you, to teach you, to admonish you, to control you and of course, to change your life.

Whatsoever you say affects you or people in your life. Look at the second part of this verse of Proverbs, it says,

“…But a deceitful tongue crushes the spirit.” Proverbs 15:4b

It is not by hazard; I mean the word of God.  It tells you exactly the situations of your life such as your tongue.

Careful! I say, careful, my friend! Life is not given to you for you to toy with it. Life is bestowed upon you so that you will be a blessing to the kingdom of God by your ways of life, your conduct, and your speech.  Watch your tongue, teach yourself to control your mouth and you shall live longer than your expectation.

Do You Need It?

“Have nothing to do with stupid and senseless controversies; you know that they breed quarrel.” 2 Timothy 2: 23

When you decide to keep cool in the midst of conflict, it does not mean that you are a dummy who cannot fight. It simply means that you are wise to know how to avoid trouble.

It is the same when dealing with people. You need to understand that not everybody will be able to understand things the way you do. This is why you need to be very careful with what comes out of your mouth.

You may say something and another person will read different meaning to it. They will go on to accuse you of being a problem and before you know it, they will start quarrelling with you.

Now, I implore you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to be very, very cautious when you talk.

  • In fact, you should only talk where it is relevant and needful.
  • Be careful what you say.
  • Think thoroughly before letting the words out of your mouth
  • Be spiritually conscious all the times.

I pray that the Lord will help you more in your Christian life so that you will live the pleasing life require of you, amen.
