OBEDIENCE PROFITS THAN FOLLY (2)

“The Lord said to Moses and Aaron, because you did not trust in me, to show my holiness before the eyes of Israelites, therefore you shall not bring this assembly into the land that I have given them” Numbers 20: 12

Believe me, there are so many lessons to learn from this Bible chapter and these are;

1) You cannot fight for God! Do not think you can. God does not need you to go and kill someone on His behalf. He does not need you to murder thousands of people thinking you are doing this for Him. If God need to deal with someone, He will do it himself. You maybe a Christian, but your mission is not to terrorise the lives of people with the thought in your mind that you are doing it for God.

Listen, God is not a murderer. Even if anyone insulted Him like the way the Israelites did, that cannot move God to kill them. God is love and that means He forgives no matter who and what level of offences.

2) When God instructs you to do something, do it the WAY He commanded. Do not use your own method thinking that God will understand. I have heard that statement so many times and it hurts me ‘God understands’.

There are issues that you just have no choice than to obey God. Tell me, who are you to think you can boycott God? Even if you do and hide under your cosy bed, God’s eyes are everywhere and He sees you.

If Moses and Aaron had obeyed God, surely they would have gotten the privilege to enter Canaanland. Their disobedience cost them their lives.

3) It was Moses who insulted the Israelites and struck the rock twice BUT because Aaron was Moses accomplice, he (Aaron) too paid the price for disobedient.

Avoid being an accomplice with someone who finds joy in toying with God. Avoid friendship with a terrorist. Flee from intimate with anyone who laughs at God.

4) Mind the way you talk! Whenever you are angry, do not talk. Wait until you are calm and the anger is gone off you. it was out of horrible anger that Moses lost it all. What a painful experience to him. He worked all his live to get the Israelites out of Egypt but he ended up losing his right to enter the promise land with them. God only allowed him to see the land from afar before his death.

Anger is a terrible emotion and you must deal with it fast if you don’t want it to destroy you.

5) Finally, respect God. Respect the Powerful Living Word of God. What God says is true and you only have to say ‘yes Lord’ whenever you are send on any errand.

It takes the Divine Power of the Holy Spirit of God to help you understand what God requires from you. Do not make the same mistake as Moses. It does not pay you to lose your life out of disobedient.

Peace!

OBEDIENCE PROFITS THAN FOLLY

“The Lord said to Moses and Aaron, because you did not trust in me, to show my holiness before the eyes of Israelites, therefore you shall not bring this assembly into the land that I have given them” Numbers 20: 12

This was at the waters of Meribah where the people of Israel quarrelled with the Lord. God made this declaration out of the disobedient of Moses and Aaron.

The entire chapter began with the people of Israel complaining as usual for water. They needed waters and as you know, the people of Israel in the days of Moses are just too stubborn to understand anything.

One minute, they will recognise God’s supremacy and begged for forgiveness but the second minute, they will be back to complaining and murmuring. In fact, they wearied Moses with their endless cries.

I must tell you that the people of Israel in the Biblical days are classified trouble and every servant of God leading these people just need to be more patient, otherwise, they will make him sin against God.

That was exactly what happened in the above chapter. The Israelites arrived in the wilderness of Zin and then stayed in Kadesh, where Miriam, Moses sister, died. (Numbers 20:1) Then there was no water for them to drink.

The Israelites, as usual with their behaviours, began to quarrel with Moses and Aaron. They gathered against the two. I bet you can imagine the sort of insults they hurled at these humble men of God. Despite, Moses and Aaron kept their peace and went to God on these people behalf.
God Instructed Moses to TAKE his staff (rod) and COMMAND the rock, before the eyes of the Israelites, to bring forth water.

Instead, Moses and Aaron quiet right gathered the Israelites to assemble. Then he HIT the rock TWICE after he had insulted the people! (Numbers 20:10-11).

God did not instruct Moses to INSULT the Israelites. Also God did not tell Moses to HIT the rock twice. He simply ordered Moses to COMMAND water to come out of the rock.

Commanding means to TALK TO THE ROCK. But Moses made terrible mistakes while he thought he was fighting for God.

Watch out for the next concluding part of this post…..

Peace!

UNDERSTANDING THE COMPASSIONATE ONE

Jesus wept” John 11:35

This is known to many to be the smallest verse in the Bible. The New Revised Standard Version (NRSV) is written this way; “Jesus began to weep”.

With several troubles around the world, many people had fixed this thought on their heart that God does not exist, or God does not care. There are some who boldly keep asking ‘if God exist, why then does He allow this to happen to us?’

When you look at these people, you will clearly see their ignorant. They fail to look and see that most problems we have today are not from God BUT the handiwork of men, of the governments and of course the people themselves.

I want you to know that God is not the author of evil. He is for good and for the well-being of each and every one of us.

In the above verse, Jesus wept and He did because He loves Lazarus. Though Lazarus was confirmed dead and forgotten, Jesus Christ raised him from the dead.

Jesus wept because He cares about the well-being of Lazarus, because he wants to see Lazarus alive and not dead, because He is a compassionate God.

God does not find any job in our infirmity, or our illnesses. He is not happy that you are inflicted with cancer, asthma, epileptic, HIV, diabetes, barrenness, blindness, et cetera.

What God wants is your healing, your wholesomeness, your laughter, your happiness, your joy, and of course all that it takes for you to have sound health.

Do not reduce yourself to that mentality that God has abandoned you. That is just the lie that Satan wants you to believe.

God never abandon any one no matter how far you have strayed from Him. He is a covenant keeping-God and He cannot do anything outside of His promises. What God says He will do, He will surely do! Just be patient and DO NOT GIVE UP!

In your moment of need, hold on to God. He is concerned about you and He must fulfil your request. Keep up your faith; hold tight to God’s word.

He is a compassionate God and He will forever be!

WHAT GOD LOVES MOST

“Because your steadfast love is better than life, my lips will praise you. So I will bless you as long as I love; I will lift up my hands and call on your name” Psalm 63:3-4

David understood the importance of praising God. He knew just the right way to get to God’s heart. While he was in the wilderness of Judah, David sang and wrote this psalm unto God.
Sure, David wanted something from God and most of all was his protection from the enemies BUT David knew that God will surely grant him that.

Thus he focused more on praising God and showing His supremacy. He understood that God’s steadfast love, that is the unfailing love of God, is the best and incomparable to life.

In Psalm 8:4 (NRSV), the Bible says “what are human beings that you are mindful of them, mortals that you care for them?”

Mortal is life and like a vapour, one day, that mortal will melt away but God will continue to live on forever. God is immortal.

To difference between these two require divine wisdom and understand for you as true believer of God. Being in the wilderness is when one need to seek deliverance from whatsoever one battles with.

And David was right there at the heart of the wilderness with no one to turn to but God and he made the right decision by praising God first before he afterward launched his request.

Take a closer look at that first verse in this page “Because your steadfast love is better than life……” David acknowledged God’s real identity! God is love and what God loves most is when you praise Him and like David, acknowledges His divine love.

God takes pleasure in the praises of His people. The priority in your life should not be about praying to God for just your need. In fact, you must make it your ultimate priority to praise God at every second of your life.

When you praise God genuinely without you having any motive behind it, God will move on your behalf even beyond your deepest expectation.

Get into the habit of praising God. Praise Him in your heart! Praise Him in your thought! Let every part of your body praises the name of the Almighty God!

Peace!

THE ORIGIN OF TIME MANAGEMENT

“For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under the heaven” Eccl.3:1
This explanation goes on until chapter eight and it still refers to days. There is absolutely nothing you do under the sun that does not have its timing.

Everything is prearranged and timed for that particular time and this is why you must be conscious of whatever you do as any time or period.

Do not allow your God-given time to be a waste. You have to define what you do with your time.
Like they say; ‘time is precious’ and believe me, I agree with that. Respect how you manage your time and you will reap the full benefit of it.

Are you supposed to be at work at a time but you find yourself indulging in something different and fruitless?

Then you need to adjust your life. It does no good to you to ruin your time and your energy over what does not please God. Let me tell you this if you don’t know it before; God put you here to be a blessings to your world and to glorify His name.

Therefore, you don’t just live your life just about anyhow. Honour the time you have in your hand. Be dignifying in your time management for your own favour.

May God help you to manage your time in Jesus name, amen.

Peace!

WHEN GOD CHOSES……………..

“But God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise ; God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong ; God chose what is low and despised in the world, things that are not, to reduce to nothing things that are, so that no one might boast in the presence of God.” 1 Corinthians 1: 27-29
Sometimes we wonder why a colleague of us who is a ‘classified dummy’ can afterward be the overall winner in the entire class. We may even be surprised when we heard that someone won a scholarship, which he does not deserve.
It may be that we are shock that some people excel despite that fact that we are the one who supposed to excel in that area.
This just goes down to one truth. It is not our might, not our strength but it is God who shows mercy to us all.
God uses just anyone He wants. He does not wait for our permission before he can do what He wants to do. God is different and His uniqueness lies in His sovereignty.
It does not matter how brilliant you are. You academic level is not the requisite for God to use you. God uses even the dumpiest people in our world to do greater things.
This is why you have no choice than to put aside whatever pride that you have in you and get yourself to God so that He will use you in the best way and to His glory.
Your strength to live on in life is in God’s hands; the ultimate wisdom that you need to excel in all your endeavours belongs to Him and it is when you decide to let God manifest His supremacy in your life that you will live the unique life that you are destined for.
Do not think you can do anything without God. In fact, do not get it into your head that you are better off without Him. God is there for you and always. You only have to accept him fully into your life.
Final word; humble yourself so that God will use your abundantly and your life will be blessed.

THE SHUNAMMITE FAITH

“When the man of God saw her coming, he said to Gehazi his servant, “Look, there is the Shunammite woman; run at once to meet her, and say to her, Are you all right? Is your husband all right? Is the child all right?” She answered, “It is all right” 2 kings 4:25b-26

This Shunammite woman is indeed a woman of Faith! Reading her story from the previous chapters will make you understand who she was and what happened that she came out looking for Prophet Elisha.

In actual sense, her son and only child is dead. She lied him in the upper room where Prophet Elisha used to stay as guest in her house whenever he passed by, and she did not want to accept the loss of her child.

It was through prophesied word of Prophet Elisa that this woman had her son. She was once a barren woman and she was rich. Now she was privileged to be a mother, and she lived with that joy until tragedy struck.

Once day, the child complained of head pain then died afterward. To everybody in that household, the child was dead and that’s over.

But his mother, this Shunammite woman, was just different. She saddled her donkey and went searching for Prophet Elisha. She strong believed deep down her heart that if she meets him, her son will be restored to her.

And that’s the questions in the above verses that Prophet Elisha asked when he sighted her from above.

If it is another woman, maybe her response would have been ‘you gave me a son now, he is dead. Why did you bother giving me initially when you know he will not live long?’
Instead, the Shunammite woman replied “it is all right” another version of the Bible says “It is well” 2 Kings 4:26

Do you have anything special you want from God? Maybe you need to stand your feet like this woman and maintain your confession of Faith, knowing well that God will surely keep His promises.

All you need it this kind of Shunammite Faith, the God-given Faith that remains unbend no matter the circumstances.

Do not give up. If the Shunammite woman had given up, definitely she would not have gotten her son’s back. It was her faith that moved Prophet Elisa to intercede to God for her.
God brings back life into her child. And God will forever remain the same. He needs your Faith, your strong belief of His supremacy.

Just surrender your problems, your anxieties, your headaches, your debts, your sickness, your emptiness to Him, He will make you whole and gives you the best of life than you imagine.

ARE YOU NOT PRIVILEDGE?

“May grace and peace be yours in abundance.” 1 Peter 1:2b
The grace that comes with serving the Almighty God is indescribable. You need to experience this in order for you to fully comprehend it.
When the grace of God is in the life of a person, he can overcome whatever; he can achieve what he sorts out to do and he can succeed in life without any obstacles dominating him.
In the above verse, it is not just a verse but one fills with extreme blessings for every believer as a whole. It is more than a prayer. It is a divine tag and you must believe in the power of this verse so that you can tap more from its benefit.
Grace is such that it’s difficult to explain, like I stated above. Grace if tangible. It covers you 100% and gives you the ultimate assurance that God is forever by your side. Grace belongs to God. When God bestows His grace upon your life, trust me, you are a favoured person! God’s grace handles over to you what is impossible for mankind to achieve. God’s grace takes you beyond the realm of your imagination.
God’s grace takes you higher above your world and creates that distinct life in you that anyone that sees you or live in your world will marvel at God’s presence in your life.
This same goes with peace. When there is tranquillity in you, there will be no fear of anything. Even in the face of hardship, economic recession, famine, job-loss, pain, or whatever, the peace of God within you will make life easier for you to tackle.
The above verse says grace and peace be yours in abundance. It means more, and more of this duo in your life. Aren’t you glad to be part of the God’s community?
When you have grace and peace in abundance, what else do you lack? Make use of the opportunity today to rejoice fully that the grace and peace of God is forever in your life!
In whatever you do throughout this week, rejoice in God! Give Him the honour and glory due unto His Holy name.
And as you worship God genuinely, He will multiples His grace and peace in your life.

A-Z OF HAVING UNLIMITED SUCCESSES IN LIFE

“………Fear God” 1 Peter 2:17

When you read through the entire Bible, you will discover the above two words almost everywhere inside the Word of God. In Proverbs, we understand that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.

To fear God does not mean that we should be afraid of coming to Him with our needs. It does not mean He is such that we cannot be free discussing and meditating with Him.
God is not a man. He is God and He will forever be.

To fear God simply means to obey His rules and regulations. To accept His supremacy as the only immortal and the everlasting King of Kings; To understand His sovereignty; To believe His existence; and of course to proclaim His awesome mightiness.

When you fear God, His wisdom and understand and divine knowledge is entrusted into your life. You will see things differently. You will be distinct in whatever steps you take in life.
Fearing God is the beginning indeed of all wisdom. It brings you successes in all your endeavours. God will stay with you in such that you will prosper in anything you invest in.

God is tender and gentle. He does not change like you and I. All He wants is for you to fear Him, obey his commandments, and live your life as a true Christian, and not just pretending.

He finds joy in your well-being and He will do everything for you to be happy.

All you need to do is; FEAR GOD.

WHY IS GOD FOREVER EXTREMELY DIFFERENT?

“For the Lord will not cast away His people, for His great name’s sake, because it pleased the Lord to make you a people for Himself.” 1 Samuel 12:22

Samuel was the one speaking to the people of Israel after they asked him to pray on their behalf to God to spare them from death after they realised their error in demanding for a king to rule over them.

If you read the entire chapter, you will understand it’s also during Samuel’s farewell address to all the people of Israel. Samuel made these people to understand the gravity of their sins and the outcome that would follow after they asked for a mortal king to rule over them.

The Israelites have never been contented during their sojourn from Egypt to Canaan, the land of Promise. They rose against Moses who led them out of bondage. They rebelled several times against God and His commandments.

They are people known for their stubbornness and unfaithfulness. In fact, they are never satisfied with what God gave them. They wanted more. And they went to the extent of asking for one of their fellow human being to rule over them.

The Israelites looked at the foreign nations surrounding them who have kings ruling over them, thus, they equally wanted the same. Their request showed they prefer mortal sovereignty over them than God’s supremacy.

Samuel did as they requested after God instructed him to obey the Israelites.

It was afterward, they understood their error in abandoning God and instead choosing mere mortal to rule over them. So they cried out for mercy unto God.

In the above verse, Samuel reassured them of God’s unfailing love.

The same applies to our present days. It does not matter how far you have strayed from God’s protection and laws, He (God) will continue to be faithful to you. God cherishes His name. He is not a man that he should lies.

He is the; I AM THAT I AM and that is the most of all. He remains that forever and He proves it in every circumstances.

Are you at the point that you think God is no longer on your side? If your answer is ‘yes’ then you are wrong.

I want to tell you that no matter what you have done wrong, or wherever you are, God will never abandon you. He is forever on your side even if you hate Him. It pleases God to make you His own child, friend, and person. Do not be afraid to come to Him.

He loves your friendship with Him.

Peace!

ARE YOU MISSING SOMETHING?

“What do you want me to do for you?” He said, “Lord, let me see again”….Jesus said to him, “Receive your sight; your faith has saved you.” Immediately he regained his sight and followed him, glorifying God; and all the people, when they saw it, praised God’ Luke 18:41-44 (NRSV)

Jesus asked this man a simple question; “What do you want me to do for you?” He did not say; do you want to receive your sight or whatever? His question was direct and straight!

This is the same with us. When we come to God in praying though our Lord Jesus Christ, He expected us to be direct and not wander around in our request. In fact, it does not make sense when we ramble on with useless words when we are praying to God.

It pays to be precise in your request to God. Look at the blind man’s response; “Lord, let me see again” Believe me; I respect this man’s answer. He was direct and straight just the same way Jesus was with him. He understood he was standing before his deliverer and he knew that he must not waste any time with his words. He just went ahead and replied. If I interpret the blind man’s answer, it will be; “I want my sight”

And look at what Jesus said to him; “Receive your sight; your faith has saved you” Jesus revealed to us in his declaration that the blind man is a man of faith. It was written nowhere before that the blind man is a man of faith BUT Jesus saw in the man, the God-given kind of faith.

As Jesus was direct in His initial question, so also was the blind man in his response and that showed to us the kind of man he is when Jesus spoke about his faith.

Are you just asking God for something without you having faith in receiving that which you want? Then you need to read these verses above to understand that without faith, you just cannot receive what you want.

When your faith is up and high enough, you won’t need to be afraid because you will know within you that no matter what you want from God, you will have it.

This is a new month. Make it your duty to increase your faith in God. He cares for you more than your own imagination. He just wants your faith and nothing more. He wants you to believe that whenever you come to Him in whatever request, He will forever answer you unless it does not conform to His words.

Can your faith save you?

REACHING OUT FOR GOD’S UNCOMMON FAVOUR

“Do not put trust in Princes, in mortal in whom there is no help. When their breath departs, they return to the earth; on that very day their plans perish.” Psalm 146: 3-4

There is a usual verse in the Bible that says; with God, all is possible. It is the same as the above verse of the Psalmist. Human being will always be human being.

And this means whatever you are, there are other person having nearly the same attitude towards life as you. Whatever you have been, another person has been that too.

Life goes round and round as a circle. And there is absolutely nothing on this earth that you want to be that another person has not been. Do you want to be a musician, a writer, a songwriter, a painter, a sculptor, an artist, a stylist, etc? I would like to inform you that there are people who have gone through the same line of profession before.

So why then should you completely put all your trust on your fellow being when you knew that both of you are human, which makes you two to be of the same level?

Don’t you think it is a total waste of time when you believe that another man or woman is able to get you out of your trouble, or solve all your problems of life?

Why should you trust on the drug of a Doctor more than your life-giver?

You must understand that with man or woman, there are promises that they will make to you. They may tell you that they will forever be there for you, but do you absolutely believe that?

I mean giving your life-trust entirely to a fellow mortal. When someone promises or make an oath to be there for you forever, then you need to check out and be careful. That person is mortal and there is no doubt that death can come knocking his or her way anytime.

So what will you do if the person you put all your life on is no more there for you? How will you survive without this person? Or the person may be your spouse or friends, or whoever, are you going to die along with that person?

“Happy are those, whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the Lord their God…….”Psalm 146:5

Take a look at the second verse; it just explains to you the strong need for you to trust God and God only for everything you want in your life. Put all your struggles unto God, He is immortality. He never dies. He is forever and forever because unto Him is all that was, and is and will be!

Are you not happy that God is your help? Rejoice today that you do not have to bother about trusting in mere mortal but unto God, the great I AM THAT I AM

THANK GOD THE BIBLE IS FOREVER ALIVE!

“Rid yourselves, therefore, of all malice, and all guile, insincerity, envy, and all slander.” 1 Peter 2:1

What a glorious advantage we have as Christians, having just the positive rules and regulations to live on! The Bible is so rich in wisdom and understanding of God that we need not look elsewhere whenever we need solutions to our worries and problems.

We only need to study the Bible and receive helps in abundant. Isn’t that wonderful that we have such privileges?

In the above verse, it tries to picture to us the images of what happened or used to happen or may happen in our day-to-day life. Because we are Christians do not mean that we will not be offended by people in our world, in our work, in our homes in our neighbourhood or wherever. In fact, people will deliberately look for our troubles. They will insult us as they like and without any remorse.

The same goes for how we operate with people in our lives. Are we honest? Do we speak the truth when we should or do we just tend to be diplomatic as we try to save our necks?

What about us seeing next door neighbour’s new car and we refuse to greet him or her, when we meet because we become filled up with envies toward that person for having new car?

And in our place of work, are we obeying the Word of God by avoiding what’s wrong or do we engage in slandering our colleague?

For us to live the true life of God’s choose people, we must rid ourselves of whatever will bring sin to us. There is no need for malice, nor for guile, nor for insincerity, nor for envy and not even for slander.

Be true to yourself and be deeply rooted in the Word of God. Flee from keeping malice with whosoever. It does no good. Be straightforward and run away from insincerity. Let your ‘yes’ be your ‘yes’.

Embrace true love and happiness so that you can rejoice with those you have new things. This will help you to deal with envy.

Finally, do not join any group that enjoy slandering others at your office, neighbourhood, club or wherever. God’s child does not have time for wasteful adventures. When you are in Christ, your life will be different and those around you will see it clearly that you are not part of them.

Obey the Word of God, open your heart to know God with all your best and you will be leading, and living the beautiful destiny that God created for you.

Peace!

God or Religion; who comes first?

“Blessed be the God and father of our Lord Jesus Christ! By His great mercy He has given us a new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,” 1 Peter 1:3

Many folks believe that we mean we are referring to religion when we wrote on the strong need to put God first.

The art of religion involve rules and regulations, which some of them are so complicated, and can dissuade people from understanding what true worship means.

Parts of our obligations as Christians in our fellowship are praying, reading the bible, and singing hymns to God. We become closer in intimate relationship with God when we observe daily the above.

It helps us to know God better in our knowledge, understand and spiritual aspect of our lives. How can we know God when we don’t pray? How else can we obey Him if we don’t read His word to know what he wants from us and what He has in store for us as His children?

How can one gets into profound relationship with God with daily exercising of the above in our lives?

In view of the never-ending issues surrounding us such as economic recession, job losses, divorces, untimely death, health problems, infertility and many more, these are strongest prove that we must get closer to God.

We need Him to help us to face life-challenges. We cannot be stable at all if God is not our first priority. No matter who you are, no matter your level of riches or education, do not conclude that you don’t need God in your life because this is not true.

Be reasonable with yourself and come to the term that there is absolutely nothing you are and all you will be that you can achieve all alone. That’s a big lair!

God must be your first in whatever you do. In your office, in your family, in your choice of friendship with people, in your education, in your dealing with your kids, in whatsoever you are doing under the planet earth, put God first and your life will be a blessing.

Why not start right away and put God first in your life!

ARE YOU STILL ALIVE?

“Wisdom is as good as inheritance, an advantage to those who see the sun.” Ecclesiastes 7:11

You are blessed in abundant for being alive.

Everybody knew there is no more hope for the dead. The Bible verse above refers to those alive ‘an advantage to those who see the sun’. This means to those who are alive, who have the capacity to see, to feel the power of the sun.

Aren’t you lucky to be counted among the living? Tell me, what hope is there for someone who’s dead?

This is why in all that you have, let wisdom be your greatest priority. In your speech, allow wisdom to dominate and you will be successful.

As you go out today, embrace wisdom in whatever you do.
