I Will Wait Upon the Lord


“Because of the LORD’s great love we are not consumed for his compassions never fail.  They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” Lamentations 3: 22-23
It is God’s mercy that keeps us till this moment. It is the great love of God that moves us higher than our imagination.
When you think that all hope is lost, God’s mercy shows up to prove to you how great is the love of God.
Read that verse again, you will see that God is exceeding faithful to you. His faithfulness is renewed every morning, at the rising of the sun, at the first crow of the cock, at the beginning of the blinking of the morning sky.
Aren’t you happy to be called the child of the living God?
The enemy wants you to go down, for your life to be complete mess, to destroy you, to ruin you, and in fact, to wipe your memory entirely from the surface of the earth BUT God is not ready to lose you!
God is after your wellbeing. He is completely willing to ensure that no harm comes to you. This is why He loves you, to show you that you need not worry over anything as long as you are with Him.
The Bible says, by His mercy, and His great love, you are not consumed. He won’t allow you to leave this world as a nonentity. He won’t watch and see your life a total mess.
When God loves someone, which He does with every, of His creations, He will jealously guide this person. And you are one of His creations. 
His compassion will never fail. So don’t be weary when you are downcast. God will lift you out of your troubles. He will raise you up; shines His face upon you, bring you favours from all corners and put a bashing smile on your face plus a peace that is beyond all human understanding.

An Open Heart of Gratitude

“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God.”  Colossians 3:16 (NIV)
When someone does something great for you, you tend to appreciate this person. In fact, you end up going an extreme length some times to say ‘thank you.’
A heart that is not grateful is a heart that does not appreciate value.  Life is such that you must not forget to be grateful to others for where you are. The truth is you don’t get to that level in your life all by yourself. People contributed in many ways to raise you up.
These people don’t just get to you by mere luck. God uses them to be tremendous blessings to your life and this is why you must not forget, first of all, to give honour mostly to God.
It is one thing to praise God, to read the Bible, to teach the word of God, to worship Him and it is another thing to do all these with genuine gratitude in your heart.
I can’t help bursting into tears whenever I praise or worship God. I don’t fake this. It just comes normally because my entire soul, spirit and body understand how much God has been playing tremendous role in my life since I was born.
My life is not an accident. All the experiences I had in life, both good and bad, all have God see me through. In fact, many people who are close to me known how much God has worked through me.
I didn’t just get to serve God with this vehemence.  I am a living testimony, testifying of the goodness of God in my life. The truth is, I won’t be where I am today, where I am going to and my greatness tomorrow if God hasn’t changed the course of my life.
What the enemy designed, God changed it all, He transformed me, mould out a new me and give me successes in all direction, irrespective of odds.
So you can understand why I must never forget to show my profound gratitude to God. And I knew I am not alone. You too must never forget to thank God, to tell Him you appreciate Him for everything in your life.
One important note; the more you thank God, the more secure your life and endeavours are.
Don’t be ungrateful. Praise God with an open heart of gratitude, please praise Him!

I am a Child of God

“If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” 
 Romans 10:9
I am a child of God. I didn’t just get this qualification like that. I become God’s child by salvation. I am deeply convinced that Jesus Christ came to die to pay for my sins, not just mine but yours as well.
There is absolutely no one who can die for his fellow beings. Don’t even think of the tale about Romeo and Juliet. That’s extreme fairy tale!
Jesus Christ is not mortal like us. He is the Son of God, the embodiment of the Spirit of God. He is God Himself in another form.
In spite of His supremacy, of His grandeur, His glamour, His status, of being our creator, Jesus Christ leaves all these aside, humbled Himself to the lowest rank by becoming the son of a carpenter that you and I will not end up in eternal doom.
What a priceless gift! What a self-less sacrifice! How awesome is His humility!
In your acceptance of the salvation of our Lord Jesus Christ, you must continue to profess His supremacy with your mouth. Do not let your confession end up just at your church, or in the midst of your brethrens, or when you are happy. Instead, make it a duty, not just one, but the willingness deep down from your heart, to always confess that Jesus is Lord.
Also, you must ensure your confession about our Lord, comes directly from the bottom of your heart, and not just a formality. Believe that God raised Him from the dead.
By these confessions, you will be saved in every aspect of your life. In fact, your soul will be at peace with your Maker, and you will be able to understand deeper all about God’s sovereignty.
The question is; can you boldly claim and confess like me, without any doubt that you are a child of God?

No matter what, I will Serve the Lord Forever.

If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king.  But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image, which thou hast set up.” Daniel 3: 17-18 (KJV)
Do you remember these three men of God; Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego? They were with Daniel but their works is not the same as Daniel’s because he (Daniel) worked at the gate of King Nebuchadnezzar while the three are assigned to work in the province.
The king instructed everybody in his kingdom to bow to the golden image of himself he made, but these three men; Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego refused.
They know God, they understood the law of the Lord and that they must not worship other gods.  It is this faith they carried with them. In fact, King Nebuchadnezzar was not expecting these men to betray him.
After all, he gave the job, he paid their salary and they work for him closely. Imagine them now, refusing to disobey his instruction.
In spite of how deeper the king threatened these men, none of them changed their minds. They insisted on serving God, on obeying the Lord rather than their mere mortal.
They saw the burning fire but they did not denounce their faith in God. Read the above verse and you will see faith in their speech.
And God works in their favour! The men that dragged the three men into the fire died from the fierce scourge of the heat but Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego did not die!
In verse 24 and 25, it read;  Then Nebuchadnezzar the king was astonished, and rose up in haste, and spake, and said unto his counsellors, Did not we cast three men bound into the midst of the fire? They answered and said unto the king, True, O king. 
   He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.”
What a mighty intervention! The three men’s faith in God delivered them from death.
When you don’t waiver from your faith in God, in spite, of all odds, of your situations or problems, God will raise you up.
God honours those whose faith in Him stays strong and not doubt. Also, to live on with God is a definite assurance for your life. No matter how far you suffer, no matter the pains, the agony, the tears you shed, the headache you have, when you focus on God without any doubt, He will help you.
Please, learn now to rely on God. Learn to accept His sovereignty over your life just the same way Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego did. You can see that there is no hardship to their profound faith in God.
It is their faith that moved King Nebuchadnezzar to accept God supremacy in his life. Without these men’s confession, the king would have no idea there is a living God greater than him.
Let the entire world come to acknowledge God through your faith in Him. I repeat, stand strong for God, be His ambassador on earth. Worship and serve only Him, and your life will be a divine testimony.

By His Stripes, You are Healed!

“Then David got up from the ground. After he had washed, put on lotions and changed his clothes, he went into the house of the LORD and worshiped. Then he went to his own house, and at his request they served him food, and he ate.” 2 Samuel 12:20
Sometimes, crying over split milk can be mere waste. What has happened had already being done and there is no need for one to break heads over that.
In spite of the fact that King David was known as a man after God’s own heart, the man still sinned. It showed he was not a perfect man. No matter how human tries to be sane, and without any blemish, then that human should know that only God is perfect.
David stole Bathsheba, the wife of Uriah, thinking that he can have his way since he is the king. He slept with the woman, impregnated her, and did not stop there, but to cover his deed, he moved on to have Uriah killed.
God sees this and is not happy. To have David pay for his crime, the child Bathsheba had for him died. Before then, King David prayed, fasted and refused to eat, nor be comforted. He thought God would answer his prayer.
But  the child died.
When King David learnt about the death of his child, do you know what he did? Read that verse above. King David, stopped fasting, stopped praying and went to bath. He ate, put on new clothes. Not only that, the bible says King David went on to the house of the Lord and WORSHIPPED!
How loyal is this man! In spite of all, David did not forget God. He went back and worshipped God. His servant questioned him about his behaviour in the following verses ( 2 Samuel 12:21-22) and he still reminded them that above all, God is the author of his life.
Are you in the same situation like David? When trouble comes your way, it may be you are being corrected for your deed. God punishes those He loves. He did that with King David. You must understand the differences between problems and your own handiwork problems.
God corrects you when you transgressed but not for long. He wants you to learnt never to do that again. If God does not correct you, then what happened to the love he professes to you?
No matter how much you suffer in your moment of correction, do not forget to acknowledge God afterward. Even in your situation, praise God just the way King David did.
Look at this; because King David praised God despite all, it was the same woman, Bathsheba who bore King Solomon who replaced the died-child! What a marvellous gift!
The more you praise and worship God, the more God will intervene in your life. And the more you are showing to God that you accept His correction over your life because it is for your own good.
Remember, no punishment last forever. It is only to uplift you, so don’t take it the other way round? Instead, be wise as King David and get up to worship God.

Who Can Know God’s Age?

“How great is God—beyond our understanding! The number of his years is past finding out.” Job 36:26
our understanding is human. We have our limit because we are mortal. In every sense of the word, we can only do what we think best and after, every other thing becomes how we want it to be.
But when we are referring to divinity, we are absolutely nowhere with God. It is for His love and mercy that we are in deep relationship with Him. That He loves us, He proves this by sending His son, Jesus Christ, who paid our prices once and for all.
You can think of how great our God is! You can imagine all His wonders even those you have not seen! Everything we are and we will be, is still mystery to me.
Each time, I reflect on God and His wonders, I marvel at His creations, wondering how He created us, all by Himself. I marvel at His supremacy, and of course His abundant love.
To whom can we compare God? He is beyond our understanding! The scientists have tried to change the order of God’s creations. They have concluded that God is not the creator but they are wrong.
Most of their inventions have failed to far and these, most of them, have largely admitted.
No matter how they tried, God will forever be beyond our mortal understanding! No one is able to determine how old is God. Isn’t that wonderful?
You can know the ages of all the scientists, the wise ones, the doctors, the intellectualists, the fundamentalists, the writers, the professors BUT no one knows God’s age!
How excellent is His Holy Name! How magnificent is His supremacy! Aren’t you happy and joyful, knowing that you have a supernatural incomparable God?

The Mercy of God will Overshadow Your Life

“And the LORD said, “I will cause all my goodness to pass in front of you, and I will proclaim my name, the LORD, in your presence. I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.” Exodus 33:19 (NIV)
The mercy of God goes farther than your mere thought. The mercy of God brings to you what you must have thought too difficult to acquire. It is God’s divine mercy that change issues in your life and transform you to that realm beyond your wildest imagination.
When you have the mercy of God overshadows you, there won’t be any reason for you to worry because God is in charge. He won’t just watch and let you get into that mess.  There are moments when you transgressed, knowing what you did may get you into hot waters (troubles) but what about if everything turns out differently to be the best fort you rather than what you thought?
Have you ever noticed that often you may have concluded you are going to end up in trouble for an act you did, either deliberately or not, and suddenly the end result turns out well and fine for you, instead of the negative result you earlier imagine?
This is simply the mercy of God upon you life.  God does not look at your wrong and judge you by that. God is not human and this is why He is absolutely different. He remembers at all times, how you pleaded for forgiveness, promising never to sins anymore. Thus, when the time comes for you to face your fellow human, in order to be judge for that act, God’s mercy comes in at that time to work all things for your favour.
I implore you now, to ask God for His mercy to overshadow your life.  Trial will come but do not panic because God will bring you out of them all. He will prove Himself to you beyond your reasonable doubt. He will send help to you in whatever form even from your fellow human being.
So what are you waiting for? Go on, asks God for His mercy!

Your Dark Ruling Angel

“Those with good sense are slow to anger, and it is their glory to overlook an offense.” Proverbs 19:11 (NRSV)
When you overlook an offense, it does not mean you are foolish as many people think. It just means you are trying to avoid trouble and that you are wiser than they thought.
Life is so small and so vast as well depending on how you tend to live it. When you flee from trouble, then you are elongating your life in the best way. What about when you tend to face any situation in your moment of anger?
Do you know that through your anger, you can end up shortening your life? Anger is not the best. It can destroy so much you have worked for within few seconds.
Anger can put you in jail. It has all the possibility to erase your good deeds from the surface of the earth.
Often anger may be for good cause but you have to watch it. You have to control your temper especially now that you are about to enter the New Year. Be extremely careful when you are annoyed.
Instead, I implore you to avoid anger at all cost. Flee from it if you must but don’t let it rule over you. You have every capacity within you to tame it. You have the Holy Spirit of God right inside of you. Ask Him to help you to deal with your hot temper.
You must do it now! Don’t wait until it ruins you or almost before you do something about it.

God will Reveal Himself in Your Situation!

“I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.” Revelations 1:8
In several situations have I seen many Christians losing their faith in the face of fear.  When problems arise, they are not there to destroy you but to lift you up.
If at the point of your trouble you tend to surrender to fear instead of to God, then you are absolutely not sure of your faith.
From Genesis to Revelation, the word of God reveals the supremacy of God. He is the Alpha and the Omega. This simply means God is above every human, every situations and every thing on earth and in Heavens.
Do you know you problems are not new in this world? There are millions of people who have heard the same in the past. Somehow, they have been able to get out of these problems.  All you need to understand and to know is how you are going to get out too.
Do not be so weak as to allow fear or words of discouragement from those around you to ruin your joy of faith.  Remember, God is there for you. He is the possible while everything other people may be impossible.
God is, He was and He is to come. Even before your great-great-great- great- great- great- great-plus 100 great –grand fathers were born, God is. He is the one who created them all.
So you need to come to the deep realisation that with God, you need not have any fear.
Maybe what you need today is coming to the full acknowledge of who God is. And for this, you must pray to the Holy Spirit, asking Him to help you to know more about God and His existence.
I know that God will reveal Himself to you, even in your situations, in Jesus name, amen.

Your Life-Guide Instructions

“But you, beloved, build yourself up in your most holy faith; pray in the Holy Spirit; keep yourselves in the love of God; look forward to the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ that leads to eternal life.” Jude 20-21
The book of Jude is just verses and no chapter. And if you read these two verses, you will see that they contain valuable instructions for your life as Christian.
I am going to split them into several portions that will best explain them.
1)   Build yourself in your most holy faith.  How do you build yourself?
i)              By reading daily the word of God and acting genuinely upon it.
ii)            By attending church regularly. That you go to church does not mean you should go to gossip but to praise God and fellowship with your Christian brethrens.
iii)          And living the true life of a believer in everywhere you are, at your home, at your work, in the midst of people, even when dealing with strangers.
2)   Pray in the Holy Spirit.  There is a great difference when you pray in your own language, with your understanding than when you pray in tongue, in the Holy Spirit. Praying in tongue is divine and it’s only God and the Holy Spirit who understand the meaning of your prayer. Yes, You are aware of your needs when praying and you are praying in accordance, with the knowledge of what you want but you are more secure while praying in the Holy Spirit because the devil cannot understand this language.  I will agree with you that there are false languages but when you are really praying in the Holy Spirit, you are directly communing with God, giving your direct relationship with the Lord.
3)   Keep yourselves in the love of God.  Read this part thoroughly, you will notice it refers to ‘yourselves’ as plural and not singular. It means you must love others and make them too to live in harmony with one another. If you are someone who loves causing chaos among your brethrens, then this chapter is teaching you to stop it. You must be a peacemaker, bringing smiles and happiness into the lives of others. You must teach them about God, tell them how God has been your greatest comfort and of course, genuinely prove to them that you love them.
4)   Look forward to the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ that leads to eternal life.  In everything you do, always ask for God’s mercy. When you fall out, which is may occur, ask for God’s mercy. He will never say No. Rather, He will pardon you of all your sins. Do not be so afraid that you will have the mentality that God won’t forgive you of your wrongs. That’s the lie of the devil. No matter how far or how deep your sins are, God is ever ready to forgive and forget them. He loves you so much and this is why He sent Jesus Christ, His beloved Son, to pay the price of your sins, once and for all.  Come to Him and ask for His mercy that will leads you to eternal life. Do not be shy. Do not be afraid. And above all, do not permit guilt to ruin you of your divine smooth relationship with God.

Amen

“Now to him who is able to keep you from falling, and to make you stand without blemish in the presence of his glory with rejoicing, to the only God our saviour, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, power, and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen.” Jude 24-25
This is benediction! And I so much love referring this to myself. Read these verses again, and you will understand completely what it means.
There are countless of times you have fallen out of God’s grace either by your own doing or mistakes or from wrong counselling and in spite of all, God helps you, and keep you from falling. Apart from this, He makes you whole, void of blemish or any stain that will hinder you coming closer to God in divine fellowship.
Yes! To God be all glory and forever more!
I have fallen and have been restored. I could have termed myself the worst of all but the grace of God becomes sufficient for me and this is why I am able to withstand all odds. God has been there countless of times that I can tell you right away that I lost count of.
Without God in my life, without His divine intervention, without His mercy, without His faithfulness, without His incomparable love, believe me, I would have been in deep mess. Maybe my life would not have this new direction.
These are all because God keeps me from falling. There is extreme difference from falling and falling forever. When someone falls, he can still rise up again but when that person falls forever, it may be different or without any solution of rising up again.
However, God has restored me back millions of times, with His inexplicable love and mercy.
I knew the same goes for you and this is why you must appreciate God for everything in your life. He keeps your from falling forever and makes you stands tall without any ruins in your life.
By the love of Jesus Christ, you and I are here today, in the deep knowledge of salvation, redeemed by the love of God and His sweet mercy. What an amazing grace for us!
What a true privilege we have! And for all these and many more, please join me to praise God for unto Him be all the glory, majesty, power, and authority forever, and ever in Jesus might name, amen.

Make it urgent!

“So let us not grow weary in doing what is right, for we will reap at harvest time, if we do not give up” Galatians 6:9
To do good to people is to prove this in action. Being good to others is not just the word of mouth. You need to show it, by your actions. That is, helping others, going extra length to make others smile, wiping off the tears off their faces through your giving.
You just don’t say it by the word of mouth; rather, you must prove it in action. How do you do this? By getting into the habit of giving. Doing what is right means being a giver.
Do you call yourself a Christian that you only limit your giving to the church? What about your fellow human being? What are you doing to assist your neighbours who are in urgent need of food, clothes or money to survive? Do you love being a tight-fist?
The bible does not lie when it says you will reap at harvest time. This comes in different moment, mostly, when you are not aware. Of course, there is harvest time for whatever good you do to people. Do not think your giving or your help for other is in vain.
No! For whatever you do to others, you will surely gain it to. I told you, life is all about a circle that keeps turning and turning round. This means it’s 50-to-50 chances.
Listen; don’t get tired to helping others. Just keep doing it. This is what God wants you to do. To love others by helping them, to do good to them, to give freely and willingly in time of their needs.

Make it your duty to make tremendous changes in people’s life these weeks of celebration. Don’t overlook the need to help others. Put smile on their faces in whatever ways. Nothing you give out is small no matter how small you think it is. Just give and never stop giving!

When facing your Tunnels…….

“But as for me, my prayer is to you, O Lord. At an acceptable time, O God, in the abundance of your steadfast love, answer me. With your faithful help rescue me from sinking in the mire; let me be delivered from my enemies and from the deep waters.” Psalm 69:13:14
Time and situations come to everyone at different times. There is absolutely no one who is left without his own private problem(s).  I want you to understand that you are not alone in your situation(s). There are thousands of people who had experienced the same, while some are still in similar ones.
In spite, there is grand different especially for you as a believer. Tell me, whom do you turn to in time of trouble? God? Your own understanding? Or who?
When you turn to God and give up everything to Him, He will transform everything around in many unexpected ways that are beyond your imaginations. But there is something I want you to also know here; God works at the right time!
God won’t do something for you at the time that is not best for you. He works at the right time, which is the acceptable time for Him. I must remind you that God knows best. He understands your feelings, your pains, your agonies, your pasts, and your secrets more than I do. He will give you what’s best and durable for you at the appointed time.
So for this, you need to be patient, to trust Him for everything even when you have not received your request from Him. Yes, He will do it.
Remember, God is forever faithful. It doesn’t matter how far you have strayed from Him before you come back asking Him to help. No matter how much you have sinned, that does not prevent God from helping you in your troubles. He wants you to just come to Him with you burdens, your heavy loads that bother you and He will solve them all.
Don’t worry, because I know with this strong divine conviction in my heart that God won’t neglect your request but He will do it.

Living By The Free Grace Upon YOU

“Not to us, O LORD, not to us but to your name be the glory, because of your love and faithfulness.” Psalm 115:1 (NIV)
When you worship and praise God, you are not doing it for yourself. Often you may think that to praise God is to move Him to doing something for you. This means that you have a motive behind praising Him.
You need to come to the full understanding that to God be all the glory. You must render to Him all the honour, all adoration and glory due to His name. And when you do this, you must not have any hidden motive behind.
Why should you praise God? Because without Him, you are absolutely nothing! It is only God who spares you unto this day. It is by His love, mercy, grace and protection that you are where you are.
Let me tell you; my life changes for the best today because God transforms me. I don’t think I would be where I am now if God has not intervened in my situation. And for this, I don’t and will never forget to praise Him for His complete faithfulness over my life.
Who else can be as faithful as God? Tell me, who else can move mountains for you as God?
For His incomparable love, and faithfulness, please praise Him!

The Trial of Faith

“But now, Lord, what do I look for? My hope is in you.” Psalm 39:7 (NIV)
Are you tired of where you are? Do you feel so downcast about what year 2010 has in store for you? Or are you about giving up?
There is hope for you! I repeat, there is HOPE for you!  That you are a true believer is indeed a sure guarantee for your help. God will never abandon those who are His. He sees all your trouble. He is aware of your anxieties and He knows the ways to help you out.
In your moment of trials, put your entire hope in God. Don’t be despair, for that is not what will solve the solution. Instead, be strong in faith.
God will do it! He won’t abandon you. He will help you and everything will work out for the best for you.
