A single day in your courts is better than a thousand anywhere else! I would rather be a gatekeeper in the house of my God than live the good life in the homes of the wicked. (Psalms 84:10 NLT).
What Do You Have?
Not that I was ever in need, for I have learned how to be content with whatever I have. (Philippians 4:11 NLT)
Contentment, the quality of being contented, plays a critical role in our lives. It makes space for safeguarding. It liberates us from unforeseen nightmares and breaks the barriers of failure.
Equally for the latter, a contented Christian hardly fails or misses any opportunity. This is not to allege that he is perfect. Still, he sees the solution out of any situation before it gets out of hands because he is likely to have what it takes ahead of the time the problem comes knocking at his door. A contented Christian sees positivities irrespective of the profundity of the issue.
Pastor Tommy Barnett’s book entitled, ‘There’s a miracle in your house,’ is simply about using what you have to get what you want. A Christian only needs to prod deeper into his life or around him to see that he is powerfully equipped to overcome any situation.
For example, why is that unemployed Christian equipped with a sewing machine in her house keeps on crying and praying to God for financial breakthrough when she can make that headway through starting her self-employment business from that machine? For sure, the machine is not there to rot in a box and gather dust in her house!
As Christian, instead of looking elsewhere for solutions to our problems, why don’t we pause, turn around and search inside our self as well as in our homes for that answer?
I pray that God opens our spiritual eyes to the abundance of divine potentials lying in wait for us to utilise and also the ability of understanding the concept of contentment.
These things we pray in Jesus name,
AMEN
How to stand firm
Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. (Ephesians 6:11 NLT)
What Friendship is all about
For you have been called to live in freedom, my brothers and sisters. But don’t use your freedom to satisfy your sinful nature. Instead, use your freedom to serve one another in love. (Galatians 5:13 NLT)
Friendship doesn’t have to be a do-or-die thing. It does not have to be coerced. If instead of free will, there is something like a rope being pulled to induce the other person’s attention, then that’s not a healthy friendship.
Friendship is love without wings. It is never a forceful 50-50 job. It is reciprocal just like love is. Christ first loves us, which implies we ought to love equally well. In other language, we share or spread out the love our Lord conferred upon us.
David loved Jonathan and Idem. Living in freedom means never ceases to love irrespective of whatever offenses someone committed to annoy us. Living in freedom without abusing the good will of God over our lives, entails learning to say no to the spirit of grudges.
May the Lord teach us not to waste our divine wisdom in Him in Jesus name,
AMEN
First thing first
Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and he will give you everything you need. (Luke 12:31 NLT)
The Liberty of the Beloved
For you have been called to live in freedom, my brothers and sisters. But don’t use your freedom to satisfy your sinful nature. Instead, use your freedom to serve one another in love. (Galatians 5:13 NLT)
The Christian missing in Action
“Physical training is good, but training for godliness is much better, promising benefits in this life and in the life to come.” (1 Timothy 4:8 NLT)
What good is a Christian without a godly character? Whose name is he or she tarnishes?
It is one thing to be called a Christian, a brethren in the church or a choirmaster. Still, it is another thing to really possess the character of Christ.
Thither is a huge problem when a Christian is white outside his home and black inside his home. There is no balance control. And that shows this person is acting under the image of hypocrisy.
This is not Christlike and the Holy Spirit is not 100% abiding with the individual.
How to Understand God’s Ways
If you are wise and understand God’s ways, prove it by living an honorable life, doing good works with the humility that comes from wisdom. (James 3:13 NLT)
When God Bless You
Give thanks to the LORD and proclaim his greatness. Let the whole world know what he has done. (Psalms 105:1 NLT)
A grateful heart receives more. A complaining heart gets little or nothing in yield.
Gratitude is a continuum. It does not have to be offered only when someone does something for the other individual. Demonstrating that one appreciates the assistance provided or gift bestowed will forever prompt the giver or the helper to give more.
When God bless us, He wants us to promulgate it. We are not to wad up the blessings to hide them in our closets. By telling others about Jehovah’s miracles, we pull them to Him. Yet, we must not tell others in any pompous manners as it would seem like we are voided of humility, and that is likely to make those hearing our testimonies to feel rejected and left out. In this condition, we will never be able to draw them to Christ.
Thus, when God bless us, let us testify by sharing our blessings with others through the acts of humility.
All in the name of Jesus,
AMEN
The Man Who Was Cursed
But I, the LORD, search all hearts and examine secret motives. I give all people their due rewards, according to what their actions deserve.” (Jeremiah 17:10 NLT)
Trust is a virtue every Christian should endeavour to preserve. When this is missing, one is likely to question the disposition of the individual concerned.
Believers and unbelievers alike have friends. And friendship entails having faith in the other individual. The expectation is that, “this person will constantly be there for me as my buddy,” or “I have confidence in him or her because we have been friends for years (or since childhood).
Still, when friends betrayed the Christians and cast doubt on the foundation of their amity, they found it difficult to understand how it all happened. At this level, no logical suggestions to amend the brokenness seem worth trying.
Possibly it might be better if those believers who found themselves in the position as the ‘victims’, strive not to forget that humans will be humans. No one except God knows the intention of the hearts. Understandably, some may succeed in turning away the betrayal by reading ahead their unfaithful friends before the occurrences. Yet, many people do end up getting stabbed in the back.
Who then can one believe? The response is simple; JEHOVAH. We bear the duty to love and be loved in return. We must demonstrate to unbelievers that Jesus Christ is the true Son of the Father. Every activity of our daily lives must reflect the image of God. Even thus, when it comes to the issue of trust, God is the only one to have faith in. In Jeremiah 17:5, the Lord cursed that Christian, who put his or trust in a human being.
Why should we give ourselves unnecessary headaches by putting our trust in man when we knew that the person is just a human being like us?
Many God teach us to trust Him completely with our entire life, in Jesus name,
AMEN
The Now-Now Solution
And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns. (Philippians 1:6 NLT)
God does not exist. He is man-made up figure. If ‘he’ is up there in the sky above us, then why do we keep having worldwide troubles? Why can’t ‘he’ just straightaway provide that, which I want?
I have heard these statements many times that I have given up counting. Thank goodness, for the truth is, Jehovah is no artificial deity. He is the, I AM THAT I AM.
Wanting something from God means waiting for Him to respond. He is not in the Business of now-now where he should be exhorted to provide the miracle.
Unless we wait, we will miss out on the durable blessings that our Heavenly Father has in storage for us.
All in the name of Jesus,AMEN
Love Unmodified
And the LORD will be king over all the earth. On that day, there will be one LORD —his name alone will be worshiped. (Zechariah 14:9 NLT)
Situating human beings in a prosperous area of life require enormous sacrifices. The philosophical perspectives, which everyone has regarding the second person next to him, are probable to be derived from occurrences or personal opinions.
Anyone’s imagination of the definition for the moral doings depends on what he or she considers the other persons’ attitudes and the final judgment given may either be positive or negative.
Love is unmodified. It is fixated. It causes no injury, no biased retribution, no withholding of valuable information from those in need of it, no demeaning others, regardless of their skin col our or accents or language or education and social background.
Torrential downpour of civil warfare, gender inequality, child labor, trafficking of vulnerable women and children, divorce, terrorism, misjudgments, social deprivation, sexual and domestic violence, lack of human rights, et cetera, is significant evidence of authentic love missing in action.
Conforming to Christ implies loving unconditionally. When this is amiss, chaos sets in. And the above-mentioned is no doubt going to continue unless we embrace the divine love of Christ.
When Jesus Christ comes back, how do we expect him to see us? One another or fighting one another?
In the name of Jesus I pray,
AMEN
We All Came From Somewhere
And he gives grace generously. As the Scriptures say, “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.” (James 4:6 NLT)
Sometimes, it appears logical to acknowledge before the Lord our weaknesses and defects. It is a sign of love and humbleness.
Many of us possess a wit of the capacity of doing things by themselves without the help of others. I like it though. I have in mind, I like the fact that people in this category can stand alone.
Nevertheless, being alone in the face of circumstances, do often get us into trouble. We need other people. We need the fellowship of other Christians.
Above all, we need our Heavenly Father, Jehovah.
When we understand this, we will come to embrace His Grace. Without this, we were hopeless, helpless, frustrated and void. The Grace of God does the unthinkable. It assists in changing conditions.
Father we thank You for Your word. Help us come to the reason that your Grace is sufficient for us. Make us shift our attention to you instead of us drifting backward into states of desperation. In one body, we say we are grateful forever to you.
In Jesus’s mighty name, we have prayed,
AMEN
Thank you
I am counting on the LORD; yes, I am counting on him. I have put my hope in his word. (Psalms 130:5 NLT)
When Sharing Makes You Forget Not Those Left Behind
Right now you have plenty and can help those who are in need. Later, they will have plenty and can share with you when you need it. In this way, things will be equal. (2 Corinthians 8:14 NLT)
