“When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom.” Proverbs 11:2
It is normal when you show your joy over something, such as you passing your exam, achieving a solid goal, winning huge money or house, or finding your life transform into a better one.
But what happen when that joy of yours becomes a beast to you? That is, taking total control of you until you are no longer conscious of your environment or people around you? Then it means you have allowed PRIDE to come in.
Pride easily slips in anybody’s life. You don’t have to invite it before it comes. Too much of showing off, or becoming uncontrollable, are all evidences of pride. There is no one with pride in his life that will succeed.
It brings more of chaos, headache and pain to its carrier. In fact, pride is a beast, and once you allow it, then you automatically incur several human enemies for you.
People don’t like to associate with anyone full of pride, because that person tends to think he alone knows it all, and no one else does.
Also, a person full of pride won’t notice when goodness passes him by, because as far as he is concerned, he has all the goodness he needs without him realising he’s merely building hope on empty air.
Do not allow pride to ruin your life, I mean if you have it or notice you do. With pride, there is no way you can give chance to the Spirit of God to manifest in your life. There is absolutely no way the Holy Spirit will operates in the life of a proud man.
When you humble yourself before God, then He will give you wisdom and lift you up. Do not be so stupid to tell God that you don’t need Him in your life.
Get wisdom through mastering humility. Respect God. Honour the Holy Spirit. Show reverence to our Lord Jesus Christ. Treat every living soul you see in and around you with lots of love.
Avoid pride so that your Christian faith will not suffer shame. I bet you wouldn’t want to be nailing our Lord Jesus Chris back to the cross through your nasty pride.
Peace!
