Having babies is easy, but raising them is where the big job. Everyone wants to have babies because they feel they are toys. Parenting comes with taking full responsibility to nurture that child up to adulthood until you grow old and death do you all apart.
They say, “Charity begins at home”, and I agree. It is not the duty of your children’s school management or teachers to raise your children for you. Likewise, it is not the job of the Sunday school teachers in the church to help you train your children. Outsiders DO NOT KNOW your babies more than you.
I tell people to never embark on having children if they are not going to care for them. Today, we have lots of unscrupulous leaders and delinquents because their parents failed to raise them the godly way. Lots of them! Money can buy the best education, but it cannot buy common sense.
A Christian should be ready to pray for two things.
First, as a parent; to ask for God’s wisdom to raise their children in the right direction as the Lord instructed.
Second and this is for those who are yet to have any children; search deeply within you to check for two things— (1) Do you truly want to have children? Is it compulsory or are being forced to? (2) If indeed you are ready to raise a child, then pray about it. Let the Holy Spirit guide you. Do not follow the crowd to have babies. Follow God’s instructions, instead.
Shalom.
