“Rid yourselves, therefore, of all malice, and all guile, insincerity, envy, and all slander.” 1 Peter 2:1

What a glorious advantage we have as Christians, having just the positive rules and regulations to live on! The Bible is so rich in wisdom and understanding of God that we need not look elsewhere whenever we need solutions to our worries and problems.

We only need to study the Bible and receive helps in abundant. Isn’t that wonderful that we have such privileges?

In the above verse, it tries to picture to us the images of what happened or used to happen or may happen in our day-to-day life. Because we are Christians do not mean that we will not be offended by people in our world, in our work, in our homes in our neighbourhood or wherever. In fact, people will deliberately look for our troubles. They will insult us as they like and without any remorse.

The same goes for how we operate with people in our lives. Are we honest? Do we speak the truth when we should or do we just tend to be diplomatic as we try to save our necks?

What about us seeing next door neighbour’s new car and we refuse to greet him or her, when we meet because we become filled up with envies toward that person for having new car?

And in our place of work, are we obeying the Word of God by avoiding what’s wrong or do we engage in slandering our colleague?

For us to live the true life of God’s choose people, we must rid ourselves of whatever will bring sin to us. There is no need for malice, nor for guile, nor for insincerity, nor for envy and not even for slander.

Be true to yourself and be deeply rooted in the Word of God. Flee from keeping malice with whosoever. It does no good. Be straightforward and run away from insincerity. Let your ‘yes’ be your ‘yes’.

Embrace true love and happiness so that you can rejoice with those you have new things. This will help you to deal with envy.

Finally, do not join any group that enjoy slandering others at your office, neighbourhood, club or wherever. God’s child does not have time for wasteful adventures. When you are in Christ, your life will be different and those around you will see it clearly that you are not part of them.

Obey the Word of God, open your heart to know God with all your best and you will be leading, and living the beautiful destiny that God created for you.
