“What do you want me to do for you?” He said, “Lord, let me see again”….Jesus said to him, “Receive your sight; your faith has saved you.” Immediately he regained his sight and followed him, glorifying God; and all the people, when they saw it, praised God’ Luke 18:41-44 (NRSV)

Jesus asked this man a simple question; “What do you want me to do for you?” He did not say; do you want to receive your sight or whatever? His question was direct and straight!

This is the same with us. When we come to God in praying though our Lord Jesus Christ, He expected us to be direct and not wander around in our request. In fact, it does not make sense when we ramble on with useless words when we are praying to God.

It pays to be precise in your request to God. Look at the blind man’s response; “Lord, let me see again” Believe me; I respect this man’s answer. He was direct and straight just the same way Jesus was with him. He understood he was standing before his deliverer and he knew that he must not waste any time with his words. He just went ahead and replied. If I interpret the blind man’s answer, it will be; “I want my sight”

And look at what Jesus said to him; “Receive your sight; your faith has saved you” Jesus revealed to us in his declaration that the blind man is a man of faith. It was written nowhere before that the blind man is a man of faith BUT Jesus saw in the man, the God-given kind of faith.

As Jesus was direct in His initial question, so also was the blind man in his response and that showed to us the kind of man he is when Jesus spoke about his faith.

Are you just asking God for something without you having faith in receiving that which you want? Then you need to read these verses above to understand that without faith, you just cannot receive what you want.

When your faith is up and high enough, you won’t need to be afraid because you will know within you that no matter what you want from God, you will have it.

This is a new month. Make it your duty to increase your faith in God. He cares for you more than your own imagination. He just wants your faith and nothing more. He wants you to believe that whenever you come to Him in whatever request, He will forever answer you unless it does not conform to His words.

Can your faith save you?
