I do not know a Christian who has never offended someone and he himself, has never hurt a person. Likewise, I am yet to meet a fellow of Christ who is incapable of forgiving.
Retaliation is that tiny invincible trifle, which when acted upon, often left behind many long years of regrets.
Jesus Christ did not opt for revenge for His killing even though He has the power to wipe out all His foes. He only need to sweep his hands and they will all perish. Instead, He bowed to mercy. We need to do the same.
Let us pause and think of those we have angered, and the sacrifices they made to pardon us. Come, let us think of the Grace of God, which we look up to daily to take us through the journey of life.
To behold the Author and Finisher of our Faith is not about the hope for the bread, and butter we expect Him to provide us. It is based on our continuous remembrance that we came to redemption through His FAITH. Without it, we cannot be upgraded to the position of His children. We did not purchase the salvation Christ brought to us. He gave it to us free to charge the moment He decided to join us on earth in order to get to know us before the ultimate sacrifice. And wanting to be like Jesus means wanting to let go of all bitterness irrespective of what the other person did to us.
Therefore, forgive and let go.
