Why don’t you just SHUT UP for once!

“If any think they are religious, and do not bridle their tongue but deceive their hearts, their religion is worthless.” James 1:26

What a glorious gift is your tongue! And what a devastating piece your tongue can be if you misuse it!

The tongue is one vital part of our mouths. We cannot do without it as we talk with it, taste and of course perform several other functions with it. But in the sense where the tongue becomes a curse instead of blessing for us, then what do we do? Whom do we blame?

To be honest, we have no one to blame for the way we use our tongue. In fact, we have ourselves to blame. It is out fault if something goes wrong when using the tongue.

And this is why the Bible makes strong emphasis on the tongue. That you are a Christian does not mean you should engage in the game of talking anyhow. You may one to prove your religious belief but there are ways to doing this without you getting yourself into trouble.

When you mastered how to shut up in several occasions, you will discover that you are saving yourself from enormous dangers and unforeseen problems.

Please, learn to keep quiet a lot while in the public. You may be in your church, among your group, with your friends, in the public, these does not matter. What is important is you must watch what you say, how you say it and to whom you address.

Let the Holy Ghost guide you and teach you how to address others. You know what, what you may count as funny may not be funny to many people. They may begin to see you as someone irrelevant if you have the habit of jumping into the middle of discussion and interruption.

Do not forget, it is your tongue that will save you, get you higher, win you favours among men AND it is this same tongue of yours that is capable of ruining you if you fail to tame it.

May the Holy Ghost help you, amen.

Peace!
